I’d take Roslovic in a hot second. He’s been scratched (and buried in depth lines) because he’s terrible defensively and CBJ coach Brad Larson is trying to be a hardass in his first season. But Roslovic is an offensive stud and his faceoffs have improved. I see him as a Mark Scheifelle type. Bad defensively, but good enough offensively that when paired with solid defensive wingers he’s still a net positive. He just needs to be balanced out with a good two way center on another line. Put him with Raymond and Zadina, and Lakin with Bert and Vrana and our top six would be sick.

We basically got Leddy, Vrana, Ned and Cossa for Mantha and Bernier! (all while throwing around picks here and there!)

If we can get a 1st for Leddy, then I am all in. DD is not going to bring you that return, maybe a 5th. Staal has a NMC so he'd have to waive, but he still won't bring back a 3rd. Vlad would never bring that back in return either. Kane was on waivers just a week or so ago, if Yzerman didn't want him then, he isn't going to trade an asset for him. Not giving a 1st up for an expiring contract unless we were that piece away from winning a Cup. If I get a 1st for Leddy, I am using it at the draft. Edmonton will be out in the 1st round anyhow. It'll be a nice 16-20 pick. If I do trade away Leddy, and need to address the lack of vet presence, I will try to sign Lindholm instead. But again, I really don't think Leddy will bring a 1st, so if not, I would just keep him...not unless Yzerman has an agreement with him that when he acquired him he promised he'd move him to a contender. But I am not sure he would make that promise.

Huge pass on Kane. Way too high of value on DeKeyser. He stays and retires a Red Wing. I could see Stahl getting a 3rd if the Wings include a later pick. 4th or 5th. Same for Namestnikov. Trade him and one of our three 4ths for a 2nd. Leddy would likewise need a pick attached. He isn't getting a first on his own. The team has depth. And a plethora of players in the development pipeline. We need to move our later picks to try to acquire elite talent, not just bodies anymore. We need to aim for really high-end forwards. We have ten defensemen with the potential of top 4. We have like four forwards with first line potential, with some guys already graduated and aren't looking like they'll quite make it there (Zadina/Rasmussen/Veleno).

The only player that is going to draw any interest is Leddy. But, again, I think we need to re-sign him. We cannot go into next season with Hronek and Oesterle as our vets on D. That would be a huge step backwards. I don't see any interest in Staal or DD, nor do I see them being re-signed. Instead of trading Leddy, then trying to fill the veteran hole over the summer, just keep him (especially if we're knocking on the playoffs door) and extend him. Replace Staal and DD with rookies and we'll still have a pretty seasoned core, especially with how good Seider is. Leddy - Seider Rookie - Hronek Oesterle - Lindstrom (Rookie) What ever the low draft pick we'd receive for Vlad is not worth it. Just keep him. I think being a home-town kid, he'll re-up on the cheap just to be part of this organIzation. I am sure he'd love to be part of the transformation into Cup contenders. Other than that I can see possibly Zadina being dealt in a Mantha-type deal like last TDL. But, as much as he is criticized, he is only 22. Same goes with Ras, but I really hope they BOTH turn it around, they are falling down the ranks on this team.

At the B. Smith/Mantha age (25/26), yes. Time to unload then. At 23 and in a player's first year of developing a new role, no. Im sure Ras didnt have 4th line shut down center + pk/face off expert in mind when he was dreaming of his NHL future. Thats what Yzerman and Blash want out of him, and that's what he's trying to do. The guy is 6'6" and has a huge reach. I could see him being great in our 4C role if he gets a bit stronger and a half step faster over the next 2 seasons. You can see he's just not quite fast enough and not quite physical enough right now. He needs gym work. yes. as i said above, he needs to dedicate time in the gym. that will be his undoing as an nhler if he doesnt put the time in. he's 20 lbs too light (like dekeyser), and a half step too slow. His reach with his long arms and long stick is incredible. But he needs to be the one pushing others around. He's getting outworked right now because he's not strong enough in upper or lower body. Wings have had a strength coach issue for a long time now. Dont know why they cant fix that.

Am I the only one who would prefer keeping Fabbri and Namestnikov over Rasmussen and Smith? I know we want the draft picks, but I think the team is better with Fabbri, and Namestnikov in the bottom six.
