We need talent, so we shouldnt trade it out...trading AA would be insane. Trade Nyquist or Tatar + future pick(s) for a defensive upgrade. That's about all we can do, plus sit out the remaining cap hit of Kronner, E and Weiss. And just hope that Holland doesnt waste other cap with similar deals.
And 5 or more for Tatar? No, thanks. I like the guy, but we need to spend cap on players that get us back into contending.

No he won't and no he shouldn't. Resign RFA's Tatar, Athansiou and Ouellet, let all UFA's walk and stay away from free agency. Any upgrades to this team should come from within or through trade. 

I have seen Lindström play live. He will play top 4 in Red Wings in time, no doubt in my mind. Excellent puck control, forwards and backwards. But he needs work, there is no way he can handle the speed of the NHL yet.
I will be following him in Allsvenskan (2nd highest Swedish league) where he will get top minutes this coming season. I'll write something up if it's noteworthy.

Said it before, say it again: Both Lindstrom and Setkov, who plays in SuperElit for Malmo, are likely Hakan Anderssons picks, and that makes me very confident they'll be good and that the early pick for Lindstrom will be justified in the future.

Just read these reports (for our other picks there were none) and have to think, Ras sounds better there than I've heard so far, and Lindstrom..sounds like in best case, we can just cut the "n".

What I'm thinking is...should we even had protected Goose and Tatar, or make them available because they both might not evolve into anything more and Goose is already overpaid, if thats the case? On the other hand, even if he is, it's just two years and he could get traded for some asset possibly.

Everyone knows we need that number one defenseman, I just think we should be looking to acquire him through trade, rather than hoping to strike gold in the draft. Holland's staff has been great at drafting forwards, but for whatever reason, can't draft defensemen for s***. We have plenty of quality defensemen in the system, just no top end talent. If we can trade some depth to upgrade, I think that's the route we should go. Some teams like Anaheim, Carolina, Nashville have been great at drafting defense, but not so much at drafting forwards. Make some phone calls, kick some tires, and make a f***ing blockbuster trade that blows everyone away Kenny!

As long as we don't grab another 5'10" 175 lbs forward. Tired of our "goal scorers" being small and easily thrown around.

I really like XO, would never leave him unprotected. Jensen too. Leave all the overpaid guys for grabs and hope for bad management in Vegas. Best chance to fix your cap you'll ever get.

Why would anyone give up anything valuable for Sheahan after this season?  This guy is putting up offensive numbers enforcers think are pathetic.

I agree with the majority of this with the exception of the bold part. History has to play a part in suspensions. The analogy you used of "Are you going to give someone a slap on the wrist for assault just because they haven't done it before?" of course should not be the case, however, if you have a person who is a repeat offender and has assaulted multiple people, IMO should be punished more then a person who is a first time offender. I think the big issue here is that the NHL does not hand out harsh enough punishments, so players keep doing it AND they treat star players differently then the average player.
I have said it before, if you want to take the crap out of the game you need harsher consequences. For example, if you want to take head-shots out of the game, make it a 41 game suspension for elbows to the head. Guarantee that cleans up the game dramatically. Problem is the NHL and NHLPA will never agree to something like that as the PA will fight it thinking it is unfair to players (which is ironic), and the NHL will not want to risk losing money if it happens to stars.

I wasn't gonna go there, he played a great 2nd and 3rd, but damn if he wasn't 12 feet out of his net, had the angle, and just flat out missed it. DeKeyser did the right thing on a 3 on 2 and took the middle guy and let Mraz face the shooter, it shouldn't have gone in.
