Over the years that I've been a fan, I've missed barely one playoff game, TV or in person $$$$$, streamed almost every regular season game available $$$$$ and purchased much Red Wings swag $$$$$. Tonight is enough. Blashill must go. NOW, Chris Illitch, N.O.W.!!
Dan can take over to close this season out.
Then Yzerman takes over, fires the rest of this staff and we start fresh in 2019/2020. 
I cannot stomach the embarrassment this group is bringing to our city and our jersey.

15 years just came and went.
His storied career will rank right up there with Captain, Lids and Pavs. I hope he enjoys his time off and perhaps once Stevie returns, maybe there will be a job offer. We really need to retain some of these guys to keep that level of committment, culture and excellence going and to guide the young men coming up in what it means to wear the Winged Wheel. 
Once the puck drops in 2 weeks, it will really hit home that he is gone. I am really choked up writing this.

One thing you don't do is tank. EVER. That's the stuff losers like up north Leaf fans are made of. (The NHL helped them with that #1 pick anyways... that is apparent.) There is no guarantees in sucking on purpose. And there's that little thing called integrity. You do not embarrass our jersey.
Petr won't get it done. It seems apparent. Howie has been pretty good, but recently? Not so much.
None of this matters. They could be the 2nd coming of Hasek and it still would not matter because the team has QUIT on their coach. Period.

About a 100 games in and he is not the answer to move this team forward. The Calder Cup win is a distant memory. 
Holland? FFS Chris Illitch might even bring him back. Yes. Imagine that. He is guaranteed to write his own ticket. He is doing our organization a huge disservice. Move upstairs already or go home to Western Canada with your riches.
We have had the enjoyment of 3 HOF captains in a row. But when I turn on the postgame and see my current captain about to cry on a national TV broadcast all I can ask is WHO THE HELL IS GOING TO STEP IN AND DO SOMETHING? I can only imagine what Hank and Pavs talk about these days. The fans love you Hank!!
Nyquist, Tatar, Abdelkader make me sick. I expected a hell of a lot more than what they have delivered and it seems it is not going to happen in Detroit for them. (6 more years of Abby all because he's from Michigan? SMFH) Mailing it in over and over and over. Petr or Howie need to go. Green is waiting on a phone call from a playoff team and best believe it is coming.
How the hell did we turn into this? A team with NO direction. NO plan. No preparation. And zero accountability.
Call the front office and tell them how you feel. I don't know what else to say.

Agreed. They look lifeless, uninspired and ill-prepared. 
And for 10,000,000 Tatar and Nyquist are a joke. Excuse after excuse. It's tiring. 

Flew in for the game. Atmosphere was depressing after the 3rd goal.

No passion. No effort. No hitting. No positional play. No backchecking. Ohhhhh wait, isn't that THAT'S THE COACHES JOB.
I used to think Dave Lewis was the worst hiring ever. Now is the time to pass that torch to Jeff Blashill. Nothing will change until he is fired AND followed out by Ken Holland. Holland has simply allowed the game to pass him by. No more building off small, weak forwards in the draft and hoping they will become physical tough players. The NHL teams are building around fast, physical MEN - not weak, passive guys who stand around after getting hit.
To only be a few points out of the playoffs and yet so far removed from ANY solid plan is depressing to watch. None of these players are worth more than the crest on that jersey. When the Maple Leafs - made up of a couple good rookies (who also seem to actually ENJOY the game when they're on the ice) and journeymen, and throwaway players - we have hit rock bottom.
OK maybe rock bottom is missing the playoffs. Well that is up next. I won't even watch Ken Holland's comments regarding this game. More of "we got a new building coming" bulls***.

To beat the pretenders from Pittsburgh - who were falsely handed a Cup in 2009 they never earned - what a great night. Did Crosby cry again? Did he call his momma? Phaneuf and Crosby see each time they face Zetterberg what the C really means. But they never learn.

Dare I say but Kindl - as frustrating as he is - is not a 6th man on most NHL teams. And if he ever rounds into the form we thought he could, he will be a real good player for whichever team gets him. I like the kid, but he needs to be somewhere else. It isn't going to happen here, and the waiting is only making the fans dislike him, and leaving the team waiting and wondering, and that's going to be a distraction at some point. I wish him luck, but we need XO in the lineup. I hope it works out.

A split is what we needed. We win 2 there and that's HUGE, but we got what we expected.
The team needs to quit trying to match Boston with physical play, play our game, let the refs [hopefully, maybe, probably not though] call the game properly, and go to the net. But fact is Boston simply could not go down 2 games in this series and expect to win. So they went out there and WON! I got no problem with the game, but if we play into their hands on Tuesday then maybe we can start bitching.
Franzen is invisible but Babcock is hopelessly devoted to the veterans that have got him here before. I can't see Franzen staying this s***ty all series ... I hope I am right.
Wings will be fine. And Chara was slow to drop the gloves .... cause he was doing Smith a favor? Yehhhhh right. Mucho respect to Smith yesterday getting pounded and pounded and never giving up.

It sucks that Sochi is this year. The timing is just awful. Just as players are retuning from injuries they will be leaving for Russia. And the cold, the travel, and half Sweden being Red Wings is a horrible combo.
There might be something to these injuries each year. Yes, guys get hurt, and yes some of our guys are older, but these injuries seem almost commonplace for the Wings the past few years. Frustrating as hell.

Kindl is far from our worse d-man. These remarks are silly (and YES we know about his +/- numbers). Smith is a decent puck mover with a bit of offensive flash, but the mistakes made in our own end are similar to a first year rookie - who is just learning the NHL game. Quincey ... ughhh ... just because he knew the system as a former Wing we brought him back. His payback to the organization is nowhere near good enough for all they have given him.

Anyone remember the Lilja / Lebda first line defence pairing a few playoffs back? SMH

No worry here. I do NOT expect any passengers tonight. We also have two of the very best players in the world in #13 and #40 - who time and again have shown they know how to lead and know how to finish the job. And the best coach in the game will have these guys prepped and ready - it's all on them to complete the task.
The guys below them need to remember that while careers always seem like there's another tomorrow - and you will always get another chance at a Cup - those careers come and go so very quickly and you NEVER know how many chances you are going to get. Too much talking going on over there in Chicago's room and too much blame being passed around during and after a loss. I do NOT believe they are as united as we are. And again - we weren't even suppose to be here. That tells you all you need to know about US VS THEM mentality.
It is destiny for this team to meet LA and force goalie Jonathan Quick's return to earth. I do not believe he is that good [it was the Sharks!].
I will love this team no matter what happens tonight, but we are on the edge of something very special here, and only 9 W's away from the Cup. We can do it.
