Whats Finnerty doing now? I read he signed with Baltimore, but don't know what happend to him since. I don't think he made it because BAL has McNair, Boller, and Troy Smith.

i dunno, i didnt hear what happened to him after he got cut.

I can't believe that none of you Michigan fans mentioned that 3 MSU guys were in court. From what I've read, Adams isn't playing today while the other two guys are.

I was gong too, but I didn't because TJ Williams is a thug. JLS knew that while recruiting him, and still took him...so it wasn't that surprising. Adams, on the other hand surprised me. Plus I didn't want to mock a new head coach right when he took over. :)

They're now saying that Adams isn't playing because of some other reason. His problems over the summer, whatever he's in the doghouse for now, and the pending legal matters probably mean his days are numbered in EL.

Our house hasn't exactly been all in order this year either.

I wish Michigan was playing Iowa this year. If there's one kind of offense Michigan will always, always stuff with impunity, it's one run by a pocket-passing quarterback that makes terrible throws.

Michigan is looking great today. Glad to see Mallett throwing the ball with such accuracy. I can't wait to see what this kid can do next year.

you mean they looked good after spotting Minnesota a 10 pt lead. Nice to see the gophers take the points in agreement to play dead rest of the game.

Same old Spartans :( Michigan is going to hang at least 49 on us.

so true. Is it that freakin much to just beat Northwestern or Iowa? 6 wins is all I want. Get the Spartans to a bowl game. I don't care if its the Motor City Bowl. Get to a bowl game. My confidence in this team reaching a bowl game, is just not there after today. What time is the Lions game tomorrow? Changing avatar today.

Thanks for having us Penn State, it was fun.

So just to make sure I got this right...by the ESPN axiom, when the Big Ten beats up on one another and gives each other a nearly even amount of conference losses across the board, it's because it's a terrible conference, but in the SEC it's because they are so good...? Is that right?

It's like how the Wings last year had a good record because of their division, even though pro-rating their points for increased or decreased games vs opponents based on swapping divisions with any other Western team would stil have landed them atop the conference.

Seriously, though. The SEC has exactly two teams with two or fewer losses. The Big Ten has four of those. Yet people act as if every SEC Team would win the Big Ten easily. The BCS computers will favor the SEC because there is no dominant team or group of teams, meaning that every team will have a respectable strength of schedule number. With the Big Ten, you have two teams that have gone undefeated in conference play, while after this coming weekend, LSU or Alabama will have one loss, and every other SEC team will have at least two.

People will always say 'well the SEC has seven ranked teams' without realizing the fact that rankings are based on perception; if the perception is that a 3-loss team in the SEC is better than a 1-loss team in another major conference, that is how people will rank them. The SEC currently has four 3-loss teams that are ranked in the AP top 25; no other conference has any ranked 3-loss teams, while there are four teams from BCS conferences that have two or fewer losses and are unranked. While the SEC is probably the most talented conference, it is not to the degree people seem to be suggesting.

Of course, if we look at all teams that received votes, there are six Big Ten teams and eight SEC teams that picked up votes, with four Big Ten teams just outside the rankings compared to early season darling Kentucky as the lone SEC vote getter to not rank.

And how is USC still ranked so high?? They have gone 2-2 in their last four games, and only one of those games was against a ranked opponent.

I would not be suprised to see Michigan State lose all of the remaining games. My prediction for the game in E.L. this weekend is UM 42 MSU 10. While I think it is still too early, after all he is playing mostly John L. recruits, look for people to begin calling for Dantonio to be fired after the game.

If people call for Dantonio to be fired they are stupid. He's playing with a bunch of JUCO's, players that don't fit his system, and a small handful of juvies (mainly TJ Williams) that John L. took. He needs at minimum 4 years to clean up John L's mess.

I think he's doing a solid job, but I will not call him a good coach yet. The jury is still out, but I do believe it looks promising.

People have been calling for Dantonio to be fired since the Northwestern game :looney:

The only thing I can hope for on Saturday is that Michigan comes in fat and sassy and overlooks the Spartans like they did with App. State.

I'm not expecting that to happen.

I don't know if it gives you Spartys hope, but I am feeling nervous for this game. MSU wants a bowl game bad, and obviously Dantonio has some great hate for Michigan after his coaching days at OSU. I think it will be a real close game. The only thing that makes me comfortable is MSU doesn't have a running QB. U-M's D on the field was made to stop this kind of offense, and they have been playing very well as of late even against the spread.

Is that smiley face giving me the finger? Just joking.

I will be at the game on Saturday praying that State can pull of the upset.

The main thing I am woried about is that State is without 3 defenive players (SirDarean Adams, T.J. Williams and Jeremy Ware) because they were recently charged with unarmed robbery from an incident in April.

A key matchup for the game is going to be Schilling vs. Saint Dick (sorry couldn't resist (: ). Shilling is going to be a great OT some day, but he is only a RS freshmen, and at time gets beat like a drum, and will be going head to head with Saint Dic. He better play good, or Henne will be forced to the locker room again.

I agree. Give him time. But if this team is the same in 2 years, he is gone.

Anyone hear Brewster call out Carr after the game for "running up the score"? U-M started backup RB's and a QB, and most of the 3rd and 4th stringers played. Give me a break Brewster....You're just that bad!

Did he really say that? What a joke. It was 27-10 before Carlos Brown busted out that 85-yard run that against most defenses would have been a 3-yard run. Hell, that play was Michigan running the old sit-on-it offense, it's not quite the same as going for it on 4th down with a 38 point lead.

I don't think Michigan will come in fat and happy for the Spartans game. I've gotten the idea for a couple weeks now that Michigan has had a circle-the-wagons mentality ever since Oregon. Playing with a chip on their shoulder. If that's true, they'll handle Sparty.

Yup he did. Can't find a link for the press conference, but here is a piece of it in a newspaper article...

Brewster said he was "disappointed" in Michigan's decision to throw a pass rather than take a knee or call a run on the final play of the game.

On fourth-and-2, backup quarterback David Cone rolled to his right and hit Andre Criswell for a 21-yard pass as time expired.

"I don't know what went into their thinking on it," Brewster said. "But obviously I think it was a disappointing thing. Maybe somebody will ask [Michigan coach Lloyd Carr] what he was thinking."

Brewster said he did not talk to Carr about it when the two coaches shook hands after the game.

"I just shook hands with him and went about my business," Brewster said. "But I think he knew that I was thinking about the last play and maybe what his thought [process] was."
