Brewster said he was "disappointed" in Michigan's decision to throw a pass rather than take a knee or call a run on the final play of the game.

On fourth-and-2, backup quarterback David Cone rolled to his right and hit Andre Criswell for a 21-yard pass as time expired.

"I don't know what went into their thinking on it," Brewster said. "But obviously I think it was a disappointing thing. Maybe somebody will ask [Michigan coach Lloyd Carr] what he was thinking."

Brewster said he did not talk to Carr about it when the two coaches shook hands after the game.

"I just shook hands with him and went about my business," Brewster said. "But I think he knew that I was thinking about the last play and maybe what his thought [process] was."

Oh, that. Feh, Cone was the third quarterback in the game.

That's actually kind of sad because the only people that would get hurt by cutting federal financial aid funds - would be currenly enrolled students dependent on the aid. The U itself could fill those spots with students that don't take aid - which would make the U even more exclusionary.

On a lighter note, are they sure the folks that complained weren't a bunch of MSU students posing as diasbled and disgruntled UM fans?

Heres one we can all enjoy...The Ann Arbor Police Officer said this one during tailgating at 2004 U-M/MSU game

A Detroit Free Press writer is walking down the road, and witnesses a pit-bull attacking an old woman when suddenly a young boy saves her life. The writer runs over to the scene, pulls out his notebook, and starts writing his story.

His tile: "Young Wolverine saves old woman's life!" The writer shows the boy, and he says "I HATE MICHIGAN!" The surprised writer crosses it out, and writes "Young Spartan saves old woman's life!". Yet again, the boy is mad.."I hate MSU!". Confused the writer says "Well who do you like then?". The boy stands up and proudly says "I'm an Irish fan!"

The shocked writer once again crosses out his title, and renames it "Young Boy Kills family Dog"

Wow!! What a game. MSU really put a scare into me that time. Makes you wonder why they didn't spend the entire first half running too. Definitely one of the classic UM-MSU games. Mario is the new Braylon! And you've gotta give Henne some crazy props, he was taking a licking but he stood in there and made every throw when it counted.

You know, Michigan State is starting to remind me of the Lions under Marinelli in his first year. In a bunch of games but just cant come through in the end and find a way to blow it. My gut says they'll have the same type of turnaround and be really good next season.
