e_prime 1,936 Report post Posted January 10, 2015 (edited) I bet we'tee the only team board in the league that devoted six pages in 24 hours to McGrattan. We're simply the best. Mckinley25 678 Report post Posted January 10, 2015 Well said :-) Some people won't be happy before every team is as soft as the current Wings edition and hockey turns into a non contact sport. Somehow I'm starting to hope that Lucic snaps and maybe then the ever so funny OT spammers will change their mind but I'll doubt it. Sadly Reaves, Bourdelaux, Scott and Thornton are the last remaining enforcers. So you want Lucic to hurt someone so that your enforcers are relevant? Am I the only one reading this? 3 kipwinger, number9 and BottleOfSmoke reacted to this

He had plenty of time between shifts to eat a few. 2 BottleOfSmoke and e_prime reacted to this

kipwinger 8,524 Report post Posted January 10, 2015 So you want Lucic to hurt someone so that your enforcers are relevant? Am I the only one reading this? That's right. He wants Lucic to go out of his way to hurt someone, so that McGuffin can come back and make Lucic not hurt people anymore. And that, in a nutshell, is the mentality of the pro-fighting crowd. 3 Mckinley25, BottleOfSmoke and marcaractac reacted to this
BottleOfSmoke 5,965 Report post Posted January 10, 2015 You're welcome. You're all welcome. By the way, have you seen the trailers for the new Mad Max starring Luke Glendening...errr...Tom Hardy? It looks bitchin'. Yes I do who is protecting Johnny hockey, Monahan and Bartschi now? Jiri Hudler and his 2 PP goals. Duh. 1 BottleOfSmoke reacted to this

GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted January 10, 2015 I bet we'tee the only team board in the league that devoted six pages in 24 hours to McGrattan. Thank you was about tho post this but you've already done so ☺ The let's make hockey as *** as other sports crowd won't be happy till every team is as soft as the wings and hitting gone from the game. Heck t those are the same guys who think Kronwall should hit less instead of more... kipwinger 8,524 Report post Posted January 10, 2015 I get the feeling that you grew up playing hockey and lost your roster spot to an enforcer. Close. When I was a child I was a member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters. As luck would have it, premier NHL enforcer Craig Coxe had volunteered to be a member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters and I, being a lifelong hockey fan, was chosen as his "little". I was so excited that I was going to get to spend time with a real, live, NHL enforcer. No more gushing over hockey cards, facebook photographs, and in-game stills for me. This was the real thing! Never had I been more "pro-enforcer". Craig Coxe is generally unreliable. Both as a human being, and as a "big". That's why I hate enforcers GMRwings. Well that and because Brian McGuffin is "better at life than me". 2 Nev and BottleOfSmoke reacted to this

krsmith17 7,191 Report post Posted January 10, 2015 I'm confused about one thing when it comes to frankgrimes and GMRwings1983 and whoever else there is that dies for fighting and goons that don't have a clue how to actually play hockey... You're all very aware of the fact that Holland wants nothing to do with guys like McGrattan, a "player" like that will never be employed by the Detroit Red Wings, so why are you still fans of such "weak", "pussified" team?... I'm not telling you you shouldn't be a Red Wings fan, but I'm just curious as to why you are?... 1 BottleOfSmoke reacted to this
kipwinger 8,524 Report post Posted January 10, 2015 so why are you still fans of such "weak", "pussified" team?... Don't forget ***. Frankgrimes made it clear above that if there's no fighting, hockey will become "as homosexual as other sports". The great Champion of fighting wants enforcers in the game, why? So it doesn't turn ***. Lol. Even if I didn't care about fighting in hockey I'd be against it just so I didn't have to agree with anyone who thinks something like that. 1 BottleOfSmoke reacted to this
Hairy Lime 234 Report post Posted January 10, 2015 I would not have minded giving a part-time roster spot to Big Ern, as opposed to Andersson. He's probably (slightly) more talented than Aaron Downey, and I don't think having Downey in the line-up in '08 ever hurt us. In fact, he brought a little more excitement to games and added some much-needed toughness. I don't think I've ever seen a softer hockey team than these current Wings. Maybe in peewee. MAYBE! 2 frankgrimes and BottleOfSmoke reacted to this

Good and fair question to be honest I will be unhappy and all that stuff but I am not a bandwagoner and jump ship when times getting hard - great coone track by the way - I became a wings fan back when this team was great and tough and they have brought lots of joy.. So yeah that's basically it But I am not going to say sorry for wanting payback when people try to take advantage of the wings. I have a question for you too.. Can you honestly tell me you didn't like seeing Downey beating the hell out of Laperierre? The whole team read fired up they came together and stood up for each other so you really don't like that stuff. Is it to hard to understand that our stars and small players shouldn't have to worry about all the rats in the league and focus on their game? I'm not going to stop rooting for a team because they're a bunch of *******, but I certainly have the right to mourn the loss of team toughness. And I don't necessarily want a talentless goon; I'd settle for Chris Neil, Matt Martin... even Lucic, or Proust. Anyone who actually still knows how to throw a check or stand up for a teammate will suffice. 4 KATIEBARTHEDOOR24, BottleOfSmoke, Hockeymom1960 and 1 other reacted to this

But that doesn't mean I have to accept every cheap piece of europuss that Holland has to stick on the roster. And if that's not enough, let's just say I want an enforcer on the team just to see kipwinger throwing temper tantrums and starting threads about how useless that player is. KATIEBARTHEDOOR24 426 Report post Posted January 10, 2015 Can't we all get a long. Don't forget we already have an enforcer. Our "powerplay" damn that lines so old and tired. Next time Weber smashes Hanks head into the boards for free. Don't forget we'll get ours on the PP. Oh wait if I recall there was no call on that play. Once again we lost that year as well. Fighting DOES have a place in the game. BUT you must be able to contribute elsewhere on the ice as well. 3 BottleOfSmoke, BadgerBob and Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

Frank I agree with you on one point, they shouldn't have to worry about the rats. Unfortunately even with Probert and Kocur in the line-up the team still had to worry, in fact there was so much fighting back then I'm inclined to believe there are less rats now. I'm old enough to have watched the wings in the eighties and while not many of the games were televised (I feel like one year there were only 17 games I was able to get) I can say with some certainty there is at least the same amount of cheap shots now as then if not less. 1 BottleOfSmoke reacted to this
