Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 2 points is 2 points. Starting on time against Columbus would be cool though.
Desert Rat 78 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 I caught this game via Ken Kal and the radio crew and I was wondering if Sheahan had as good a game as it sounded? I hope so, when he's playing well it really bolsters that third line.

GoalieManPat 1,007 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 Score made it look like a but kicking but save for the 2nd period the Wings were outplayed. Howard was solid after a rough first goal. No chance on the 2nd with Kronwalls perfect screen he seems to pull off every game. 1 UpstateNYRedWingsFan reacted to this
xtrememachine1 795 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 It was good to see Pulkkinen back in the lineup and get a couple points including the GWG. I feel like he gets better and better each game and he's only 23.
Smite 399 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 Bit by the dumbest rule in hockey. I have not found a clear definition of the rule expect if you shoot a non tipped puck clear over the glass. In Zetterburg's case it was batted out. The puck never hit the ice. I do not think it should have counted. However Zetterburg deserved a 5 major at the end of the game when he arm barred Hamiltion just before Datsyuk's goal. It was dirty and unnecessary.
UpstateNYRedWingsFan 42 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) Despite it not seeming like the Wings are playing that well they do have the 2nd best win% in the NHL in games that end before the shootout. Until recently they hadn't lost two in a row in regulation. So the high win percentage in regulation stands to reason. I don't think anyone would argue that the Red Wings are a bad team. However, IMO there are a few weak points to our game that I'd like to see us tighten up before the playoffs roll around. Most recently, we've been starting games late and generally look aloof during the first period. Our 5-on-5 scoring is only average and we seem overly reliant on special teams play for offense. I'm still not sold on our transition game, and turnovers seem to still be a problem at times. I'm hoping that between now and the playoffs we can figure out the best line and defense pairs to ice, and that the additions of Cole and Zidlicky will allow us to get people slotted for maximum efficiency. Barring any serious injuries I don't see why we wouldn't be able to improve in some of these areas. 2 e_prime and Detroit \# 1 Fan reacted to this

Hitting the ice or no that play has always been called so they are consistent in that at least.
