MabusIncarnate 5,344 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 So from what I gather, Howard is starting, Larkin is now on the 3rd line between Vanek and Nyquist (yes, 3rd line), Glendening is still on the 2nd line. Smith is back in. Good times, i'm getting a 6 pack when I get off work before I watch this one. LGW!
joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 (edited) I don't think theirs any strategy Blashill can come up with that will make this team good. Might as well let Larkin play centre at this point Edited November 23, 2016 by joesuffP
Franzine 739 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 I'm reminded of my favorite Tortorella quote, describing a game he just coached in: "Just two bad teams going at it." 1 NerveDamage reacted to this
chaps80 1,591 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 (edited) I can't believe the Red Wings are in a battle for LAST in the Conference with BUFFALO, and the Leafs are ahead of them in the standings. How times have changed, huh? They better come out flying and win tonight to fight for any dignity they have left. I wonder how long ago the Wings were in this position at the tail end of November...couple decades?? Edited November 23, 2016 by chaps80

chaps80 1,591 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 (edited) I don't think they've been this low in the standings at this point since 1989. lol Whoops. Was 1993. Edited November 23, 2016 by chaps80

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 Sabres beat Calgary handily right after we could not do the same, and leapfrogged past the Wings. If no one comes to play tonight again, let's not blame Jimmy Howard for lack of scoring and a loss. Let's (PLEASE) Go, Red Wings!!!
ami 273 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 in contrary with a handful recent games, this one Wings will lose in second. third would be just a formality.
Dabura 12,207 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 Larkin and Mantha break out tonight. Or they don't. 2 hours ago, MabusIncarnate said: Larkin is now on the 3rd line between Vanek and Nyquist (yes, 3rd line) FWIW, the Wings' official projected lineup has Larkin's line as the top line. (Source: Facebook.) In terms of ice time, though, they'll likely be the third line.
LeftWinger 4,962 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 Should be playing xo...need to showcase him for a trade. Of course we may need to trade Smith too...aw, who am I kidding, Holland is still in charge, so, ya, no trades coming. Unless it's a fleecing. 3 Wingnut1989, puckloo39 and datterberg1340 reacted to this

ami 273 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 Hey! Who said we are not going to make it this year?! According to Blashill we have already made it: Quote "We talked about urgency from Day 1," coach Jeff Blashill said today, following an optional morning skate. "We realize every game is like a playoff game and certainly this game is and the next game would be and will continue to be all year long." src: www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2016/11/red_wings_lineup_vs_sabres_urg.html
