He scored 57 points drifting between the 3rd and 4th lines, half of which (29) came at ES with virtually no help. Should he be played on the top two lines with skilled linemates, he'll easily match that kind of output if not exceed it significantly.
When he played on the 3rd line,he was mostly playing against other 3rd lines. He's gonna be competing with better players if he plays on the 2nd line.
Oh brilliant. Someone brings up the NHL video game for some original hilarity.
How in the hell is Asham going to command a salary TRIPLE to $1.5m? He'll be lucky to make a mil. You should read my earlier post about how Asham is 32, wasn't anywhere near his career best season and has had his salary decline over the past 3 seasons despite point production increasing.
Study compares an Alberta 11+yr old league w/ checking and a Quebec non checking league. Regardless of the speaker making hockey sound disgusting, the whole article is more about what age kids should start body checking (not if they should).
I'm sick of hearing about this s***.Its hockey.if you don't like being hit, don'tf****** play.its a traditionally violent sport. As Mike Milbury puts it,pansification of this game needs to stop.
Yeah looking through the free agent list I thought Boychuk would be a possibility but I was thinking he would get a bit of a raise and be a bit to expensive for the wings cap situation.
I'm thinking our 6th dman this year is going to be getting no more then about 1.2 million or so.
He's gonna have to be cheap. Here's some guys that pop into my head in addition to the guys you mentioned:
Sean O'Donnell-Veteran Presence, still physical and fights Andy Sutton-May be too expensive, but he would be my choice Jay Leach-Cheap,big,physical,fights Tim Conboy-Same as Leach Aaron Johnson-Someone mentioned him earlier. He'd be a good fit Willie Mitchell-Main problem with him is $$$ Carlo Colaiacovo-Physical and good puck handler.Main knock is injury history. Jay McKee-Would be a good mentor for Ericsson.Classic stay at home guy.
