#2000523 somehow, we need to get a scoring third line center...

Posted by Bring Back The Bruise Bros on 17 June 2010 - 12:07 AM

This is sof****** amusing. People are saying "Yeah, 70 points for Flip seems likely." and " I'll bet 60-70 points for Flip" yet when Mike Babcock says "I think we can get at least 70 points out of Hudler." it is all "No way do we see that kind of production from that midget!" and stuff like that, even though Hudler has shown to be the far more offensively talented player. Flip is the better two-way player, but he is not even CLOSE to Hudler's offensive skill.

I find it more amusing that you get all defensive and up tight once someone says something,or in this case, doesn't even say the pricks name and you still freak out like a schoolgirl on her period.THAT'S amusing.

Yeah Abby is more of a compliment type fighter to someone who is tougher and less skilled. You don't want Abby doing all your fighting but he could be a good guy to fight every now and then.

Nill said were looking at a few guys who will drop the gloves so it'll be interesting. Can you imagine Jared Boll in a Wings sweater??I'm so pumped for July 1st its not even funny.

#1999998 I don't get all of the Colby Armstrong Love

Posted by Bring Back The Bruise Bros on 15 June 2010 - 05:36 PM

I don't get it either.Who would want a guy that can skate fairly well, hit, put up some points, and fight?wow..seriously??who needs well-rounded players.

#1999938 Chat with Red Wings assistant GM Jim Nill at 2 p.m

It sounded like how he talked about Abdelkader that they are very high on him. It also sounded like they are expecting him to be pretty mean too.

He also said they are looking at free agents to fill a fighter type role which is good news to me

This is good news for me too.

#1999284 Kane and Byfuglien joke around

Posted by Bring Back The Bruise Bros on 14 June 2010 - 01:02 AM

I can't wait for the day that Patrick Kane gets his ass handed to him.I want someone like McGrattan or Boogaard to just absolutely kick the s*** outta him.One of the top 5 punkass princesses of the league.

Wait....this isnt NHL 10????

#1999272 Hudler+4th line grinder

Posted by Bring Back The Bruise Bros on 14 June 2010 - 12:34 AM

Hudler will be a bust?

He scored 57 points drifting between the 3rd and 4th lines, half of which (29) came at ES with virtually no help. Should he be played on the top two lines with skilled linemates, he'll easily match that kind of output if not exceed it significantly.

When he played on the 3rd line,he was mostly playing against other 3rd lines. He's gonna be competing with better players if he plays on the 2nd line.

#1999257 A Question To NBA Fans

Posted by Bring Back The Bruise Bros on 14 June 2010 - 12:11 AM

The only full season I watched of the NBA was in 2004-05 when the Pistons and the Spurs played in the finals and the Spurs won the title.

Guess why.

Global warming,right???

#1999250 TSN: Forsberg Almost Joined the Flyers at the Trade Deadline

He needs to retire.I'm sick of hearing about the Forsberg bulls*** every summer and every trade deadline.

#1999242 Hudler+4th line grinder

Posted by Bring Back The Bruise Bros on 13 June 2010 - 11:42 PM

How many seasons in a row do we have to 'expect' a bigger year from Filpula and Cleary?

Hopefully we can stay far more injury free this season. With Hudler being back, I'm hoping for so better offense, especially on the pp.

I don't really think asking for 50 points when a guy is playing with Zetterberg on and off is too much to ask.I still think Hurdler is gonna be a major bust.

#1999131 If Bertuzzi isnt re-signed...

Posted by Bring Back The Bruise Bros on 13 June 2010 - 07:48 PM

Oh brilliant. Someone brings up the NHL video game for some original hilarity.

How in the hell is Asham going to command a salary TRIPLE to $1.5m? He'll be lucky to make a mil. You should read my earlier post about how Asham is 32, wasn't anywhere near his career best season and has had his salary decline over the past 3 seasons despite point production increasing.

I just ignore dumbass posts like that.

#1999101 Study on checking in youth leagues shows higher brain injury risk

Posted by Bring Back The Bruise Bros on 13 June 2010 - 07:02 PM

I'm for the physical part to the game, just felt this was an interesting article to discuss.

http://www.npr.org/t...oryId=127748445

Study compares an Alberta 11+yr old league w/ checking and a Quebec non checking league. Regardless of the speaker making hockey sound disgusting, the whole article is more about what age kids should start body checking (not if they should).

I'm sick of hearing about this s***.Its hockey.if you don't like being hit, don'tf****** play.its a traditionally violent sport. As Mike Milbury puts it,pansification of this game needs to stop.

#1999020 How much better would we be looking with Leino and Kopecky

Posted by Bring Back The Bruise Bros on 13 June 2010 - 03:25 PM

Somewhere in French Canada, Martin Lapointe is lifting weights and grooming his beard, wondering what happened to his career ever since he left Detroit.

Although, he did get paid big bucks by Boston, so maybe it wasn't a total failure for him.

He's probably chillin with Mathieu Dandenault.

...this would've work cap-wise

Franzen-Datsyuk-Holmstrom
Filppula-Zetterberg-Bertuzzi
Hudler-Helm-Cleary
Leino-Abdelkader-Kopecky
Draper

Lidstrom-Rafalski
Kronwall-Stuart
Ericsson-Lilja
Kindl

Howard
Osgood

looks like a championship squad to me.

You know what, that does look like a championship ballerina team.Good call.
