According to Pierre LeBrun on HNIC Hotstove, the NHL is creating a new award for general manager of the year. The early rumours were that it was to be called the Sam Pollock Award, but that apparently is not a sure thing. The NHL is holding off on naming the trophy for now.

Oh man, I wish, but even though it's already been made public (so no design patent possible), I couldn't do it for the same reason Matt can't use the Wing's logo on his site. The NHL and the Wings merchandising legal arms would be all over it for trademark infringement. But thanks, I did feel like it was clever, and seriously patted myself hard on the back when I made it! I don't know if I told you all last time or not, but I like the Wings a lot, and consider them my second team. I do WANT them to lose to the Sharks, and want the Sharks to win the Cup this year, no doubting, but I was also solidly on the Wings bandwagon in 2007 after we lost to them, and that loyalty tier hasn't changed.

Yeah its just how easy the east is. As much as I grew up loving the Pens as my Second favorite team, its just not the same anymore, its all about Crosby and I would love to believe in some sort of conspiracy theory to keep Crosby in the championship picture. I don't think its got anything to do with luck or conspiracy just a terrible eastern conference. I will root for whoever comes out of the West even the Blackhawks and I despise them.

Don't know if you pretend to be stupid or something but generally speaking, canadians play the game with more heart, power and grit, they live their hockeylifes wanting to win the cup while euro's dream of olympic gold and whatnot, I want more power, grit and people willing to drop the gloves, too many teams take advantage of all the euro ******* that are on this team.

Eh, Diven Devin is just like a lot of other hockey players in today's game. Draper embellishes practically everything, I don't blame Devin as much as I do the refs that refuse to call obvious dives and obvious high stick penalties.
