You're making a mountain out of a mole hill. The trade looks as good today as it did the day it happened. You should have used the time that Kenny has given you to come to grips with the painfully obvious fact that we weren't going to be able to keep everyone. But, then again, he may clear waivers. How about we not judge Modano after only a handful of preseason shifts. He's not here to be dominant. He's not here to be a leader. He's not expected to be the face of the franchise. He's just here to play third line center. Seriously, enjoy the luxury of having so much depth that we can afford to part with a decent prospect.

Good we don't need a useless plug on the 4th line. There is no room for a one dimensional enforcer in today's game, especially on the Red Wings. Our powerplay is our enforcer.

Downey is a class act, what a great guy. hard worker, tough as nails, always willing to help teammates. Good luck Downey wish you the best!

/facepalm Whatever dude. unmetered bandwidth server packages start at $150 - $395 per month. Hockeystreams is somewhere in the middle. Do you tell a mechanic how to fix your vehicle when you take it into the shop for repairs? Online business is my career, and I am proud to say that I do it legally. But whatever helps you sleep at night.

In your mind maybe, in reality I'm not sure about it. This is not about Downey, I don't care about Downey. He was finished 2 years ago... I wasn't expecting much (anything) from him. This is about Detroit with no TOUGHNESS. Something that was a problem (even Holland said that he will go after enforcer and Dallas Drake type of player)... and nothing... I don't know if you realize but this is the WEAKEST team in the NHL right now...

Playoff games are on Versus and NBC. Neither Center Ice or gamecenter will have it.

This guy is a gimmick. He purposely publishes garbage for the attention. This thread is the perfect example how he operates. Personally, I would remove his link and ignore his s***. You are giving him exactly what he wants.

you do realize the last game downey played he got trucked and knocked out of the game? So in essence he was wasting a roster space and no where near the role of enforcer. Downey is not the guy who will prevent cheapshots, he sucks at hockey too much.

Last time I checked the issues the Wings had last year were with the amount of injuries they had (non-cheapshot related) which hurt their performance on the ice, not the amount of liberties teams were taking with the Wings. Talk about an overstated issue.

I live in Alberta and will be moving to Saskatchewan soon...I couldn't see many Wings games without it. I can't stand watching the s***ty streams off the webernet, so the money is totally worth it.

Welcome to another year of cheapshots on Franzen, Datsyuk, and Zetterberg. The Brooks Orpik hit is only the beginning of what we're gonna see.

New year, same spin. Detroit is old, Detroit is losing the ability to win, Detroit needs this or that and blah blah blah. If you're a Wings fan, A.) you've heard it before and know the real deal. B.) Dont read the comments left on that page, they nearly sent me into nerd rage mode. Particularly when people comment about how last year is proof that the wings are on a decline because we finished in fifth place and such.... what these ignorant fools fail to comprehend is the true depth of our injury's last season. my rebuttal is simple, any other team faced with the magnitude of what we had happen last year would not have survived the playoff race. period end of story.

It's a wise soul who knows their limitations and learns to accept and go on. I wish him nothing but good. I got to meet him at camp a couple years ago. Really nice kid. Good luck and good journeys, Ryan.
