Give the conspiracy theories a rest for the night. Osgood was considerably worse than Howard last year and Jimmy almost played to a Calder then was just too gassed at the end. Nothing more or less. This isn't "Who shot JFK?"

    Forsberg back ?

Translation: "I was hoping we didn't have to face this amazing player anymore. God help us, if he signs with the Avs they'll win the cup." Let go of the decade old hate, the guy was awesome and it's really sad that you can't see past that old rivalry and recognize that. One of the most complete players to ever play the game. He obviously loves hockey enough to go through dozens of surgeries to his foot just to get one more chance to play the game on a high level. What's wrong with that? In my opinion such a great player deserves to finish his career up with style. I don't know. Maybe I'm just biased because I'm a swede and I know how insanely humble, down-to-earth and nice Forsberg is. If you watch interviews with him, or even better meet him in person, it's impossible to wish him anything but success in his comeback attempt.

No she didn't, lets get real here. He assaulted her first by grabbing her and lifting her into the air. It'd be one thing if he just said some flirty type stuff to her and she hit him, but he physically assaulted her in the middle of a fight and that is is prompted her to slap him.

I could totally see Nabby say screw it and go back to Russia if he is picked up by the Islanders. It's like playing for Chicago, why would anyone want to do that!?
  8. 2 points
Only about 40 more minutes left to wait... Please Hockey Gods, just let him become a Red Wing! I read something last night that said Nabby will refuse to report to a bottom-feeding team. If the Islanders do claim him, he will bow out and just wait till next season to play. And since it seems like he wants to be with the Red Wings, I would assume he'll just sign with us in the offseason as a free agent.

if we do get nabokov, bettman will say its unfair and try to steal one of our draft picks. lol.

Holy crap, it looks like one of those Make a Wish grants where a little kid gets to play a game with the adults, haha.

Hawks win the Nabby lottery. Nabby, who has been chilling in the D, suits up and plays for his new team, but thankful to Detroit for bringing him back to the NHL, he "misses" quite a few saves. Final score Wings 4837547384l- Hawks 3<-- (Pearce starts for Wings after Jimmy gets a hangnail. Didn't get the memo that Kopy was no longer a Wing so didn't bother to block his shots figuring they wouldn't go in anyway. Pearce gets set straight at first tv timeout and is fine from there on out.) Hawks think Nabby sucks and put him back on waivers. Other teams don't bother to claim him, not wanting the same problem, and Nabby becomes a Wing.

Do you remember why Ozzie only got one game? I'll give you a hint, it rhymes with "We were trying to make the playoffs and Howard was playing Vezina caliber goaltending."

If Nabokov clears Waivers, and ends up in Detroit... AND if he's allowed to even compete for the Starting role, let alone win it from Howard.... That's proof positive that Babcock is a liar with his "Howie is our Starter. We're going to ride him." schtick, and that his bias against Osgood was personal. Just as some here have opined.
  14. 2 points
It makes little differance that he came through our system. There is no way he was rushed and Babcock is the last to blame. We spent a ton of time pampering Jimmy and it is time. He has to be better and this will push him. Push him by motivation or push him right out on his butt. I just think it would be silly to stay with Jimmy and an injuried Ozzy becauuse they came through our system or they are swell guys!

^^^^ right it's not about Howard vs Osgood vs Nabakov. It's adding a piece the the puzzle that can help the team.

Nabokov claimed by NYI, refuses to report, suspended

    what would qualify as "consistent"? December 09: 9/11 games above .900 sv% January 2010: 10/13 games above .900 sv% February: 5/6 games above .900 sv% March: 12/15 games above .900 sv% let's compare that to osgood who was UNDER .900 vs% 13 out of his 23 starts last season, and didn't post a .900 sv% game after 1/1/2010.

    Forsberg back ?

so why no re-entry waivers? special rules apply? He played outside of North America this season...

Umm... Because the coach decides who gets more/less ice time and who doesnt? And the coach is the one who decides the line combinations that rarely stick despite all the different s*** he throws at the wall. And yes, I've watched some games and the phrase "very well" is quite generous. This used to be a team that you knew would at least compete for a playoff spot and this year has been quite disappointing to say the least. Have they been playing better recently? Sure. But since the new year, as you stated, they are 4-4. How could you say that's "very well"? Is it mostly because they've entertained you with "quality" penalty minutes? Which is perfectly fine. I can at least understand that but "very well" doesn't quite go with a team that is still 13th among 15 teams in their respective conference.

If a team like New Jersey or even the Isles claims him, I would have to get the feeling that there's more going on here than meets the eye. Nabby wants a starting gig, according to Meehan's letter, was it? There's no way in hell he's getting that in Jersey with Brodeur. Even with Brodeur playing like garbage, Hedberg didn't get nearly the amount of starts he should have. And in New York...well, DiPietro's their starter for the next decade or whatever, so that's not happening either. Holland's got some idea of what's going on though and that's why he's the GM and we're not. EDIT: And just like that...
