4.5 million isnt overpaying I wouldnt say, that seems about fair value to me. He put up 51 points, is ahuge hitter/ can fight and he is better defensively than Rafalski. Rafalski was getting paid 6 million when the cap was lower. Wiz is only gonna get better. The more I think about it the more I can see them sign him, I know people have heard he doesnt like the wings but ive also read he only said that because his blackhawk teammates would chirp him. Adding him would give detroit one of, if not the hardest hitting defense in the league

I really want Boston to win, but if Vancouver wins the cup the only one I will be happy for is Manny Maholtra because he is coming back from that awful eye injury.

Boston has played the same way all series. The games in Boston have been blowouts because Vancouver hasn't shown up on the road. At home Vancouver has actually played hard. At the end of the day, Vancouver has more talent then Boston, but without effort, it's only natural that they'd get blown out. I don't think Boston has done anything differently at home than on the road.

SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks

I've been rooting for Boston ever since discovering that the Sedins, Kesler and Burrows are flagrantly guilty of diving. Maybe it's because I grew up watching our top guys--Yzerman, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Fedorov etc. etc.--be very classy on the ice, but I just can't respect a team whose top players behave in such an unsportsmanlike manner.

They will decide that "Kings" is sexist and will rename them the "Monarchs". They will have a butterfly as their logo. The colour purple will be their primary colour in their uniforms. Once pro-democracy protesters have their say against "Monarchs", they will be known as the Queens which, with the purple uniforms, will bring in a whole new crowd to the sisterhood of Puckbunnies.

that was in no way deserving of anything, it looked like an awkward collision that was pretty inadvertent. Things like that happen, people have blown this way out of proportion. And who really gives a s*** what julien says? he can say whatever the heck he wants.

I'm not sure where I said 4.5 was an overpayment? I said MORE than 4.5 was overpaying and even then, I said I'd be ok with it for what he brings to the table, hell, I even said I'd be fine with them going upwards of 5.5 for him (even though that would be the overpayment I was referring to)... there's no argument here, so.... ?

    Scoring isn't really the Issue

I totally agree! Which is why I said spend most the money on making the D better, so we don't have as many third period farts...but I said IF Holland can get a goal scorer, then why not? If the D brings the GAA back up to the top 5, then adding a player that can score 30+ goals would be icing on the cake! Again, to the OP, I am not saying don't get better defensively, but after that, if we can add scoring, then do it!

    Scoring isn't really the Issue

I think we all agree that shotty defense was the reason we ultimately failed?

    Scoring isn't really the Issue

On the flip side, more offense = better puck possession = less time in your own zone.

The decision for Vancouver has already been made, but let's play "IF": IF Vancouver loses Game Seven with Luongo, how much blame can be heaped at Vigneault's feet, when he could use Schneider? Is it a case of blind faith or loyalty, based on past performance?

I find it pretty funny that I wasn't even one of the ones that negged you (I don't get into rating wars and save my neg ratings for trolls), yet, I was at a +1 and now I'm even on that post again and you clearly negged me, just because I was one of the ones to point out how off base you were... and to show you I'm being honest and to be a bigger man - Before: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v213/veinoffeeling/before_rating.jpg After: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v213/veinoffeeling/after_rating.jpg

I'm guessing it went like this: Reporter: "Daniel, who do you think is going to win game 7?" Daniel: "We're going to win game 7." Reporter: "Thanks, that's all I need." (Rubs hands and cackles like a mad man.)

SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks

Lets hope Boston wins indeed. I went into this series not liking the Canucks. After seeing these 6 games, I never realized how classless they are. If they do win the Cup tomorrow, has there ever been a team which has won the Cup which has played like they have? I mean you listen to other hockey fans of other teams and they are all saying the same things we are. The Sedins' diving is pathetic. Like most others watching this series, I have become a Tim Thomas fan. I never realized how good he really is. I never could stand Luongo. Hopefully the Bruins win but I do not expect it. I hope I am wrong. They need to score first. The team which has done this has won all 6 games. Go Bruins!

Too bad about Raymond, he's one of the Nucks I don't mind too much. Reeeeaaaaaaalllllllly hope Boston wins. Like that article said, the Canucks simply do NOT deserve to be champions. They have been nothing but classless whining, diving, biting, cheap-shotting cowards this entire series and playoff run. Would be such a shame to have to endure them hoisting the cup.

    No, it doesn't.

They do know that they play seven games in the Stanley Cup Final, right?
  22. 1 point
I disagree. All the games have been highly entertaining for me. The ones in Vancouver were close and exciting and the ones in Boston made my heart warm just watching LeBrongo and the 'Nucks fail so hard.

Lol, If Boston brought their home effort to Vancouver they would be up 6-0 already but if Vancouver realized that they should play Luongo at home and Schiender away they would have won the cup already. BUT GO BRUINS. Keep the Drought alive.

    14 Years Ago Today

Hard to believe that it was 14 years ago today that Vladdy had the accident. What a crying shame. He has made a very solid recovery for the severity of his injuries. Get your Konstaninov jerseys out guys!
