Maybe they are right, but like the Blackhawks fanbase is going to admit anyone that comes to the Red Wings is worth a damn. Rational thoughts aren't exactly their strong point when the Red Wings are involved. Or ever.

I think my friend still has a Commodore 64-I'm going to bring it to the game when the Wings come to MTL and throw it onto the ice if Commodore scores.

    Emmerton vs. Conner

I wanna say Emmerton because he's been in the system for this long.. but I gotta go with Conner, him and Helm on the same line is too much for me too pass up on.

The reaction to E's contract was very similar to the reaction of Datsyuk's, and we all know how that turned out. If you want a good laugh, I dug up some reactions when Datsyuk signed in '07...

Ok, then. I guess if you intended it, then there isn't a whole lot I can say on your behalf. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps it would be best to let this go.

    Chicago's Getting Meaner

Still no list. I have seen many lists from you but none in this thread. I didn't realize this is the RFA/UFA signings thread. You told me it is the HAWKS ARE MEANER thread. Which is it? I said the Hawks had physical players last year, you didn't. I mentioned Brouwer and Campbell as examples. Carcillo will get around 5 minutes a night. So that is 5 minutes of MEANNESS. Unless he gets in a fight and gets 5 minutes or a game misconduct penalty. I guess Al Sabotka better watch out for Carcillo's MEANESS as he exits the Joe. In 1996 the game was different and there was more of a premium put on toughness. Guys like Derian Hatcher and Adam Foote were valuable because they both played a very physical game and got away with much more than which is allowed now. Pronger falls into this equation as well. Pronger has adapted his game and can still play. With the rules crackdown after the lockout, Hatcher couldn't play in the league anymore. Foote was nowhere near as effective as he once was either. The Championship Hawks team of 2010 has everything to do with it. They won the Cup. They were eliminated in the first round last season. They lost even more players from the team which won the Cup since then (like Campell and Brouwer). So now they sign a few tough guys who barely play and this is supposed to make them tougher? Carcillo plays 5 minutes a night. O'Donnell is old and washed up. He will be on the 3rd pair. So we will give him 10-12 minutes a night. Mayers? He takes dumb penalties and has the hockey IQ of Tyson Nash. He will be on the 4th line. 5 minutes for him. The only guy who is valuable whom the Hawks acquired is Montador. Before July 1st, I agreed with other posters who said he would be a good fit on the Wings. He's a good dman who is tough but can also play the game. So to me they lost Campbell and Brouwer (2 regulars in the line-up) and added Carcillo, O'Donnell, Montador and Mayers. 3 washed up has beens and a valuable dman. How are they meaner again? You didn't hurt my feelings but I am sure enjoying you having your balloon popped. Thanks for the free entertainment.

    Chicago's Getting Meaner

Well lets see...there is no said list. Where is it? I mean your latest one that is. I see you have convenient amnesia. My points are clearly listed above in this thread. I don't see any tabgible facts in your flawed argument other than the Hawks are MEANER. How are they meaner? Because you say they are? Did Troy Brouwer not play with any toughness? Did Brian Campbell not dish out any bodychecks last season? Please tell me how the Hawks are MEANER? And if they are, why does this matter? You told me that you didn't say the Hawks were better, just meaner. However you did tell me that if it didn't matter then these guys would not be signed. So obviously, to you, it DOES matter or else you would not have mentioned it. Plus calling somone a troll? I mean how lame is that? Keep the discussion on topic please. Your name calling is indeed juvenile. Still waiting for this magical list of toughness you keep referencing...

    Chicago's Getting Meaner

Very predictable from the loser of the argument. 1. Calls poster he is arguing with a troll becauee he lacks the knowledge to counter argue. 2. Rips off the poster because he lacks the proper knowledge to argue. Oh you're still ripping me off. Thanks for proving my point guy.

There is definitely a list. You asked me where the list is and I told you. Of course it isn't in this thread. I made it a few days ago. You implied that physicality did not matter in today's NHL, which is far from true. If physicality had no place in today's NHL, how would guys like John Scott and George Parros have contracts? Of course Hatcher couldn't play after the lockout, he was built for the pre-lockout NHL. The 2010 Championship team has nothing to do with this thread. Again, this thread is about the Hawks acquiring physical players, not championship teams of the past. They're meaner because Brouwer and Campbell are gone, and Carcillo, O'Donnell, Mayers, and Montador are in. They will be more physical, not saying they will be a better overall team. I'm not popping my balloon. I'm just fine. Thanks for checking

I'd like to see Stamkos play here, however, Savard would have to retire if he's not making any progress on recovering from his concussion which free's up $7M...few prospects and maybe a draft pick or 2. We have more than the reported $8.7M in cap space...team president Cam Neely and GM Peter Chiarelli could wheel and deal for him while Tampa s***s all over it's self trying to match the offer. To many GM's are scared s***less to pull off such a bold move...that's the message between the lines. Call me crazy but it beats watching players pass right by you with out the GM taking a second look or settling for a Commodore 64 lol Just saying...
