Besides it not really being fair to judge Ericsson after four games, I disagree with the notion that Ericsson has been bad so far. Certainly room for improvement, but how many of us were scared to watch when we saw Ericsson and Kindl together before the first game? That pairing has done quite well so far. I kind of look at it this way with Ericsson: if I don't notice him during a game, that's usually a positive. If he kills penalties, keeps working in his own zone and doesn't excessively turn the puck over, I am just fine with him as a third pairing d-man.

Actually I've been pretty impressed with Eriksson so far. He really looks like he's trying to play more punishing in our zone and be a more substantial player, and while I still think he has some stuff he needs to continue to work on, it looks like he's on the right path towards making our investment in him worth it.

AFAIK Franzen only wore one after his face got messed up in the Phoenix series. Wearing one makes sense to me. You only have one set of eyes and a long life to live after your career is over. Ditch the lid if you're going to fight, though.

Well in that situation I'd rather he waste his time on LGW. No breeding for him allowed.

I would go back to Kindl. Even though it wasn't working well with him on it the first two games (yes, I know he coughed the puck up for that one breakaway), I still think he has some good potential to be a solid powerplay quarterback. On a side note, anyone else really liking Kindl's overall game this year? Definitely some huge steps from last year. He looks really confident out there, making good passes and not shying away physically.

That's what I was thinking, other teams mention it but when I think of our "big picture" pricless.

Why does it bother you so much? If two of out 19 players in any given game are really short how does that hurt your enjoyment of the game? So what if 10% of the team is small? The Wings definitely have size, they might not have a San Jose team with every player over 6'0 but how many cups has that collection of giants won? How many Conference Finals have they even been to? Does winning hockey games really mean less to you than the average skate size of the players? It's not like having a pair of short guys forces the other 17 players on the bench to play less physical hockey. If this kid can score and makes the team better I could give two s***s how tall he is. All I care about is the Wings winning hardware and scoring goals. If I want to watch giants lumber around I can watch basketball.

Midget? Are you kidding me? He is 170 cm tall (not gonna use the american s***ty system of feet and inches), that is not a midget. He is fast and great with the puck. It would be great signing!

He seems OK. Eliteprospects.com says that he's also "defensively responsible and doesn't mind heavy traffic." What I like him best is that he's so small that he would drive people nuts here.
