Wonder if Carter and Richards will let any pornstars skate with the Cup tonight?

Best to luck Stewie, you will be missed. On a side note, the Wings were doing Stuart favor by sending him to a West Coast Team, that just shows you they care about their players. Not many employers like that.

Ya, if you are going to be mad, be mad at the ex-husband for not letting his daughter move to Detroit...then again, who would want to let your daughter move 2500 miles away and then you would see her even less! I commend Stuart for putting family ahead of the NHL....(I just don't wish him luck when he plays us...) You are a good man Brad...until you are facing the Wings...after the buzzer? Good man again!

Neither am I,but as a Wings fan got to respect his decision to be with his family, especially after this statement yesterday:

Uh, what? Apparently you don't have a family.

2012 SCF : Los Angeles Kings vs. New Jersey Devils

Steve Bernier is going to have nightmares after tonight. That penalty may have cost the Devils the cup.

    2012 General Offseason Signing Thread

I hope Kenny can sign both Parise and Suter because if he doesn't then this place is going to go absolutely apes***. We will all be screaming for Kenny to sign anyone! Just sign anyone dammit!

agreed. Additionally, if your team is already very thin then the superstar wouldn't really help much. Look at Columbus. An average goalie and a few 2nd and 3rd liners would probably do them more good than Rick Nash is right now. Also, what does the OP mean by average? Is Cleary average, or Abby, or Miller, or Helm. You could argue that they are all average, and I certainly wouldn't trade the four of them for Steven Stamkos or Erik Karlsson.

Drew Doughty may not be a Norris candidate this season but he is a Norris calibre dman for sure who is still years from entering his prime. He is a star dman and one of the main reasons why the Kings are 1 win away from winning the Cup. Plus LA has more than just average players. Richards, Carter, Brown, Williams and Kopitar is one heck of a forward group. Sure their 3rd and 4th lines are made up of ham and eggers but those guys cannot perform effectively in their roles without the star players being there to draw other teams top lines. The Kings depth is what has carried them along with a star goalie in Quick. This team has alot of front end talent on it and should not surprise anyone with their success.

That is very dependent on the composition and make up of the team. LA is made up of 'average players' without a Norris or RR candidate, yet they are getting the job done. Can't put all your eggs in one basket; this is a team sport.

23 even strength goals. 13 goals when trailing and 3 when tied. Huds gets a very bad rap.

Brad Stuart's rights traded to San Jose

whats so bothersome? he was working under the assumption he might need another top 4 D. quincey had established himself as that the last couple seasons. in his mind, quincey was a reasonable replacement for stuart. i don't think that was too far fetched when the move was made. (with how he looked once he got here it does bring that into question) replacing stuart isn't the problem, its trying to get suter as a replacement for nick that is the key.

We may as well have traded for Bob Murray. I will miss Stuart. Good solid reliable dman. Signing Suter will ease the pain though.

I don't think I would say he is "a lot like" Stuart. They both play a somewhat different style game in my opinion.

What on Earth could you possibly have against Budd Lynch? The guy has been a Wing for 63 years, is in the Hall of Fame, and loves hockey more than probably everyone on this board, combined. The guy is an absolute legend, and familiar voice to those who have been Wings fans for years. Besides, he's just the PA announcer, it's not like Erich Freiny is going to make any difference. But don't worry, at 94, he'll probably be gone before a new stadium is built anyway.

My favorite thing about the Joe is that it's not named after some s***ty corporation. I know the new one will be, but I really loved the fact that the Joe was named after something relevant to Detroit's sporting history.

They just traded away his rights for the pick. I get that it was to a rival, but he was set to be a UFA July 1 and I'm guessing the Caps knew he wasn't staying. Maybe they figured better to get something out of it before he walks.

LOL that's funny. Most of the posts on this board are about how Holland doesn't make big deals and makes all these little minor ones like trading for Quincey, signing White and Conklin. Here we have the exact opposite. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
