I officially nominate Cleary for the Masterton trophy! For perserverance and dedication to hockey, despite obvious evidence that he doesn't belong in the league.

He's been beyond awful. I don't often doubt Babcock, but I have no idea why Cleary continues to get time on special teams or on scoring lines. Every other player on the team is vastly more effective than he is. He cannot skate or hold on to the puck.

The roller coaster continues. Only saw the third and OT, but hard to comprehend from that why the Red Wings looked so flat. Special teams are a disaster. Need the PP to get a goal in the third with those chances when you aren't on your game otherwise. Disappointing outcome against a rookie goalie. Did they even break 20 SOG?

if it goes to a shootout, will the Wings actually get shots on goal then? On a side note, yes The Crossover looks like it's complete dog ****.

White's been fine. Q has to go, I've defended the guy for a while now but he's just a trainwreck.

The more games I see, the more I think that it's a bad idea of Badcock to let Brunner play on the blue line in pp. He never keeps the puck for more than 1 second, meaning that a) he's quicker than anyone in the team or b) he doesn't take time to grasp the situation In any case, it hasn't worked out. Also, the plan to have him move quickly into the slot area after he plays a pass or shoots exposes the team to breakaways, since he's often not sufficiently backed up. I'd love to see him play the pp in the slot or corner area, where his quickness and sniper qualities would make for better chances.

Think Homer's watching the game up in the suite thinking "If Cleary still has a job, I could still play...for sure."?

People who say Howard is not an elite goaltender must have never played a single shift of hockey in their lives. The way he cuts down the angles on breakaways and shootouts. The way he has progressed tremendously from two years ago. The way he slides from side to side on 2-on-1s. With our suspect defense and power play, Howard keeps us in the game every game.

Put Cleary and QUincey in a boat, push it out into Lake Michigan and then sink it.

Time for another one of Babcock's random line shakeups. When guys don't play well you don't sit them, or move someone into the lineup from the minors, or make a trade. No no silly hockey fans. You just haphazardly draw names for line combinations out of a hat and throw them together. Abdelkader with Zetterberg and Brunner, why not? Cleary with Datsyuk and Filppula, you betcha! Eaves, Tatar, and Anderson...couldn't hurt! Datsyuk, Emmerton, and Tootoo...we've tried everything else. Whoohoo, it's a rollercoaster ride of excitement when Babs puts a lineup together. Makes me long for the Tigers. At least after Leyland puts his arbitrary lineup on the field he goes and takes a nap, or smokes cigarettes, or whatever he does when he's supposed to be managing. Cleary has been awful, but isn't every post in the GDT about him enough? Seems redundant to just keep piling on.
