    Larry Murphy Fired by FSD

Mickey and Larry are colour guys. That's what they do. They add some colour to the show. If that means stories, then it's stories. If it means background, then it's background. I love the stories. I'd rather watch a game with my uncle who used to play than a guy who just watches a lot and knows the rules. That's what Mickey and Larry bring to the table: It's like watching a game with a friend.

No shots 5 minutes in the game. But don't play Nyquist don't play Dekeyser. Don't bring up Tartar and Sheahan. Just stupid

    Top 6 fwd next?

Streaky? Right. They guy hasn't put up fewer than 20 goals since his rookie year (18) except in 08-09 when he had 13 goals and 10 assists in 17 games played. You can say a lot of things about Marian Gaborik, but any way you look at it the guy's an elite goal scorer.

Hey now, you're giving him too much credit. He's being nice because his Hawks are winning.

Why is Edzo doing this broadcast with the Hawks playing. That's a conflict of interest if you ask me on a national broadcast

    Iginla Traded to Pittsburgh

Honestly of two minds about Iginla. I'd want him on the Wings and believe he's a class act off the ice but I wouldn't really call him one on it. The guy has a ton of heart and is a great player, but more than once when Calgary is losing I've watched him skate around cheapshotting Wings players trying to engage them in a fight. And it's usually top end guys who dont' fight. When someone chases Mattheiu Schneider the length of the rink towards the end of the game, repeatedly crosschecking him in the back wanting to fight him, I have a hard time calling that player a class act.

Opinions are like an "Avery"; everyone has one.

Smith's playing his first season in the NHL as a defenseman, a position that traditionally takes a lot longer to fully develop than a forward. Just because he hasn't yet lived up to the unrealistic expectations that were thrown upon him by excited fans doesn't mean it is time to give up on him yet. Kindl has indeed been playing great, but was not playing any better than Smith in his first NHL season. Smith's upside also far exceeds Kindl's. In any event, it is great to have a good stock of young D players and prospects. Future on D is looking brighter than it has in a while.

This is so pointless. My context was "scoring leader" as in leading the league in points. The art ross is given to the Is it that difficult to grasp? Is it that big of a sin that I didn't say "point scoring leader". Do people really only attribute scoring to goals and not points? Or are you just trying to run around in circles and argue meaningless things?

Ah yes, more incorrect number stroking. He's not the leading "scorer" in the league, Stamkos is, unless you can win games with assists. Are you his mom or something? esteef

The well wishes are appreciated, I'm actually pleasantly surprised to see that. There's a number of players in the league that I'm not a fan of but wouldn't want to see them hurt. For me personally I can't get too worked up about what people say about a player but I draw the line at injuries. They're still living, breathing human beings. From all I've heard his teeth pretty much just got annihilated, the surgery was for his teeth (yes, many "oral" jokes abound) Didn't hear anything about a break in the jaw (that is what worries me most right now) but they would likely want to take precautionary measures with the concussion as well though I am hoping that's not going to be an issue. The guy may as well just go and make the full turn to heel and just come back with a damn grill, hopefully that's all it will come to.

Edited the thread title to be less obnoxious. I understand not liking Crosby, but celebrating that he got hit in the face with the puck is lame.

Kronwall hurts his team just as much as Bouwmeester does, if I had the time I would find all of his uncovered offensive zone pinches, being out of position and neutral zone risks and I could make Kronwall look just as bad. Kronwall has taken the 2nd most minors in the NHL for defenseman, that's not good for a number one guy, Bouwmeester for example has taken 8 penalities while play 25 minutes a night, while Kronwall has taken 17. That's a pretty telling statistic in today's age when penalties get called because you are caught out of position. But let's go over the examples you gave from last night And on that specific play by bouwmeester on that 2 on 1, Hudler completely abandoned being the high man after Bouwmeester saw him, and already committed, and if I'm in the film room would blame him, not bouwmeester. Bouwmeester saw Hudler make his way to cover, and Hudler didn't cover after Bouwmeester already committed. Pinching isn't a bad thing, especially when you see you have a high man. And you're going to blame him for taking the pass away on a 2 on 1 on the Calvert goal? What level of hockey did you play? As a defenseman on a 2 on 1, your job is to take away the pass and keep the puck carrier to an outside shot, Bouwmeester did his job, and he didn't let him get in on the goalie. I'm confused on how that's at all his fault. And once again on the third goal, his forward Stempniak gave absolutely no effort on the back check, and it was a 3 on 2, if he leaves the middle of the ice Prospal has an easy path to the goal. That goal is also on Stempniak for not skating hard and taking the late man, it's not on Bouwmeester leaving the middle of the ice to take a late man.

    Iginla Traded to Pittsburgh

Guess that's what happens when the list of teams you want to go to magically goes from 4 to 1 cause this one time in the Olympics, Iginla passed Crosby the puck and then it went in the net... I can no longer be a fan of Iginla either way now that he's a Penguin.
