For some reason I have this strange picture in my head of 55 fan climbing up and peeping into the Red Wings windows snapping photos of them topless.

Do you know how many actual shirtless photos of Wings I have? I'll spare you. Wings need to establish dominance at the Joe. The next two games will give us the chance to go back to enemy territory with a comfortable lead. Unfortunately, the Wings have a tendency to get too comfortable when they are ahead. Let's win this one, and win it big. And then keep winning and winning big.

I really don't like the suspension. It punishes the consequence, and is probably for no other reason other than to put Gryba back on the ice this weekend with MTL looking for their own "retribution". But I really don't view the principal point of contact as the head. These plays happen so fast, I think it's kind of ridiculous to show the video in super slow-mo over and over again breaking down which part of Eller's body was impacted first. He had the right to throw a shoulder check in that situation and it wasn't gratuitous to do so. Gryba was probably as surprised as anybody that Diaz threw the puck towards him. I'm almost convinced there are situations you could be placed in where you would accidentally get a suspension unless you purposefully tipped backwards on your skates and allowed the unsuspecting player to knock you over.

They already get a ton of monster cycles going because of Kindl.

Every fan base accuses the other team of "gooning it up," or that there's some league bias for or against a team... it's almost pointless to debate specifics. They're going to miss calls both ways, so the most important thing is that they maintain a level of control that prevents things from becoming truly dangerous on the ice (e.g. player violently boarded that doesn't result in a penalty so headhunting begins in earnest).

His face doesn't bounce off the ice if he simply gets hit in the chest. He was clearly knocked out from the hit, otherwise he would have been able to brace himself. Just watching the TSN analysis on it now, they thinking it was a clean hit, but it's hard to tell. If you look at the replay from one side, looks like the head is the first part of the body hit. I guess what they are saying is that as long as you also are hitting enough of the body as well, it's clean because the head doesn't become the "principle" point of contact. What I'll say though, I have no problem with the call made at full speed, it looked bad. Am I the only one that is starting to get really annoyed with the No Hitting League comment everytime someone gets called for a questionable hit? It's getting really tired. There is still tons of hitting in this league, there is no attempt to remove hitting from the league, all that is being done is to try and protect players from having their lives altered (which concussions can do). What is wrong with that. Will refs occassionally make a bad call? Sure....so what? Happens in several other instances as well.

These are 2 teams Buttman does not want in the finals. That game was a barrage of bad play and scrums. Not ascetically pleasing to the casual fan but I enjoyed watching them beat the crap out o each other.
