I'm sorry to all the left leaning folks on this board...but I'm sick and ******* tired of the pussification of this game. NBC can just go and fail as a TV network. Let's start showing hockey on A&E, at least they show folks shooting guns, fighting alligators and beavers and peeling the skin off of small furry creatures. Or better yet...the History Channel...they have a show that is 100% sword and axe fighting Scandinavians.

Your telling me you wouldnt punch Perry in the head in a lost game? Howard was the only one who showed up tonight. He earned the right to punch that little prick.

@CraigCustance: Bruce Boudreau said Toni Lydman dealing with a headache right now and doesn't expect him to practice tomorrow. What did I tell you?

I feel like this needs to be posted. Edit: Way to be an Ass Band, Red Wings. Way to be an Ass Band...

Call me a sucker, but I have never turned off a Wings game until the final buzzer unless I had to. I like to suffer for my team.

Since this game is over, can Ericsson and Smith engage Perry and Getzlaf now? Maybe even Selanne if the wussy is up for it.

now we know how damn good dekeyser was

Exactly - and its been like this since the new rules came in. On the whole I agree with them, but punishment seems entirely dependent on whether anyone is hurt or not, rather than the nature of the hit. Knee on knee but no-one is hurt - no problem, accidental high stick causes a nick 4 mins. etc....but then I lost faith in this league seeing the officiating and suspensions or lack of them in 2009. And years of seeing goals chalked off for goaltender interference when Holmstrom got crosschecked face-first into the goal. The choice of what can and cannot be reviewed is either incompetence or corruption, plain and simple. It was a penalty and I can see the argument for tossing him, but officiating in the NHL is so inconsistent, so poorly set up with its review system and so open to bias and interpretation that I'm fed up of seeing games decided by people other than the players. It makes one over-sensitive to situations like this where the officials may have had a point. Plus NBC can blow me, because their intermission disgusted martyrdom is nothing to do with serious sports coverage or journalism. But it has to be said, the majority of coverage of NHL games has a level of bias, unsubstantiatable opinion and pointless sensationalism and hero worship that makes it very difficult to watch at times. I am disappointed with football coverage in the UK, but at least that is just inane. NHL coverage is often just embarrassing

Since you all asked so nicely, I will volunteer to punch Perry in his ridiculous face.

Not my work, but I thought it was funny and that it would be enjoyed here.

I don't know about you guys but that Abby call got me so mad. If that isn't a hockey play I don't know what is anymore.

You can't see him, he's on the point playing the ass trumpet...

The one goal from Brunner's defensive lapse was a snap decision to attempt to poke check it away. The shortside goal might have been stopped sure. The first goal on the PK when the defense failed to clean up the mess and it got popped up top shelf was absolutely no way Howards fault. The cross crease pass and the snap one timer will go in 99% of the time against any goalie regardless of who it is, that goal is not Howards fault. So maybe we lose 2-0 instead of 4-0. WE STILL LOSE. Sounds like an offensive problem to me. "Nuff said."

Feel bad for the folks on the board that payed to go see this one>.>

he wasn't too hurt to look up while lying on the ice to see if there was a call that was going to be made, no call yet, I'll stay on the ice.

Its not the right call. The head has to be the principle point of contact. The principle point of contact was his body and then his head which = good hit. Also they called it charging. Look at he replay. Abby stops his stride well before making contact. The call was a joke. The ref was 5 feet away looking right at it and made no call. The ref at center ice made the call.

Yeah and it's frickin annoying. I wasn't doing it deliberately believe me lol. I just switched to the laptop. Tried to reply to someone else's and it just deletes the word I just typed every time, so I switched to the laptop lol. Anyways, I said earlier I didn't think the wings were playing all that well. They were playing alright, holding in there defensively, but offensively what is with this playing way out on the perimeter? We've seen them start doing that in the playoffs for several years now. It's like how far can I get away form the goal with the puck? My God. Offensively they seemed very slow with decision making, and then nobody really wanted to shoot the puck. And when somebody finally shot the puck, it was right at Hiller and there were no rebounds. Unacceptable. Where was the hunger from game 2? I don't know what it is exactly, if I'm just getting older, or if I'm just so sick of being so frustrated with the NHL over the last few years but I'm really starting to care less and less. And that sucks becuase I love the game of hockey and I love this team. But the NHL continues to be stupid. I have been a fan for 25 years and I just don't understand what is going on sometimes. I didn't even know that if no ref called a penalty, they could still call a penalty well after the play is over, and after the refs convene to discuss it. That is something else to me. I don't ever recall seeing that. Redmond I thought was going to have an aneurysm and he was probably right to. I just don't get it, but I am starting to get less and less animated the older I get, or the more years that go by, becuase I'm learning that the NHL is managed by politicians who think they can make things better, and all they do is continue to screw it up. It's happening in the NFL as well now. It's all about money, and it's really nothing to do with fans. It's pretty obvious it's not about the fans when last year I think it was philly and pitt that had the big brawls for 2 games then in game 3 if they looked at each other funny, the refs were calling penalties. I don't know what fan wasn't on the edge of his seat loving every second of those brawls. That's part of the game. WTF is the league brass doing? People want hits, they want goals, they want fights, and so far we have none of the above. Thanks NHL.

Really.. gonna toss Howard under the bus on this one? ...Really? I knew there was a reason why I avoid the GDT.

Well basically this is a pretty fragile team. We had a lineup that worked well for us. But we lost a big part of it, Dekeyser. Also Babcock decided to insert Samuelsson? For some reason. Even inserting Bert was a questionable move imo. But Sammy? Why... Then we lost Abdelkader in this game. And suddenly we're not really clicking. But really this game was lost on the Abdelkader hit and on Getzlaf taking advantage of Brunner being careless. 2 individual mistakes in what was otherwise a 50-50 game. Game 4 is a must-win. Can we do it? No Dekeyser. Abdelkader maybe suspended. Cleary not benched. Samuelsson/Lashoff in the lineup? I'm not sure..

It's hard to counter when your players aren't very good.

Learn the rules. The fact that the head took contact means nothing. The head has to be the principle point of contact on the hit. If it was just the head taking contact there would be no hits in any game ever. Abby got his shoulder, chest, and then head.
