Screwing the Wings over by playing the injury card when he was allegedly ready to go in the Chicago series....if there was a place lower than Toledo, we'd want to send him there. He's a distraction now and he needs to go whichever way the Wings can rid themselves of him.

Go over to the Florida boards. All ten Florida fans rave about him. They say he was the heart and soul of the team, he's feisty, is good on faceoffs and can control the puck. He goes for the net, he's a great teammate, a classy guy, and is underappreciated. About the only negative they said was that he's not super-tough, but he doesn't shy away from using the body or going into tight areas. They also said his forecheck leaves something to be desired. But all in all it sounds like he's a huge upgrade over Flip and the Florida crew thinks he'll be a fan favorite.

Oates is the big one for me, mostly because it happened when I was a young Wings fan and Oates was among my favorite players. Graves is another one. Given their track record the Wings might want to re-think things next time they consider trading any player named Adam.

Brunners agent screwed him. Inexperience by a rookie listening to his agent too much. Its a real pity, now he is possibly going to play for a crap team. If they are smart, they will make a short contract and Brunner busts his balls to get a better contract with another team in two years (hopefully the Wings)

I agree with Mrazek not being ready, but you have no proof that monster will be injured all year, or at all for that matter, most injuries this year was for a lack of half a season with no time for training camps, and a week long pre-season. Washington is garbage when Ovie isn't playing full tilt, which aside from 24 games last season he hasn't played that way in several years, so they are like a 6th seed maybe, they only had home ice cause they had the worst division in hockey. I do not truly believe NYR will be better with Vigneault than they were with Torts. Montreal is hit or miss really, Boston has fallen apart this off season, so lets see how they bounce back after losing key pieces of their team, and Pittsburgh is just a joke, they are good regular season, but come playoffs they are the laughing stock of the nhl. I honestly don't think there are 3 teams truly better than us, assuming half our team doesn't get injured (we can't possibly have that much bad luck 4 straight years) then I firmly believe we will start playoffs with home ice, and make a deep playoff run. With Alfie, and weiss joining Datsyuk, Z, Franzen, Nyquist and Tatar, and Helmer, we are in for a treat this year, cause we aren't trying to make playoffs this year, we are trying to win it all.

I'd give a ******** to play for Detroit too. I just haven't decided whose. I hate the waiting game.

Our new division is going to be a cakewalk compared to the Central. Isn't the Central the most competitive division in the league? The only consistently bad team we had to deal with was Columbus, and even they learned how to play last season. Now we'll have both Tampa and Florida and Toronto and Buffalo? I imagine it'll play out like this: Boston, Detroit, and one of Montreal or Ottawa will be strong. I'm really excited.

Reading over every thing, it's my understand that two players would have to take the Red Wings to arbitration in order for the team to buy-out Samuelsson. There is no "regular buy-out" period - just a second buyout period that can only happen if the arbitration does. So basically, Holland would have to low-ball two of the guys (let's say Andersson and Smith, I think Nyquist would be awarded the highest number) until they filed for arbitration. Seems like kind of an ugly situation. Edit: Did I mention I really don`t like Mikael Samuelsson right now, or Holland`s decision making last summer...

Abby just doesn't have the skill to put up those numbers, and like I said earlier shouldn't be granted the ice time to try either. He is a good 3rd or 4th line player. He will never put up more than 35 points max no matter who he plays with. I would rather not waste the final years of Datsyuk with Abby playing on his wing. I would rather one of our young skilled forwards whether it be Tatar or Nyquist to try to learn from playing with him.

I'm done raging. I'm now sitting in a corner in the fetal position and rocking back and forth murmuring, "Damien, please." This gets complicated since I'm doing the same thing about keeping Tootoo.

Alfredsson goes for the net, too. We went from having no one in our top 6 go for the net to having two very good players who do just that. Plus Tatar's shoot first mentality. We just became a more balanced team with greater work ethic, skill, and scoring ability. Plus, imagine if this change rubs off on someone else. Either way we're better than last year with the potential to be really, really good.

I have dreams of trading for Bobby Ryan and slipping Sammy in there maybe without anyone noticing.
