Thanks for supporting our boobies, Jimmah. Boob health is important. Just ask Sammy.

How is that hit to Nash's head any worse than this hit Nash put on Kopecky and didn't get a suspension?

Or the magic Conch Shell.I miss Stuart. It's weird how sometimes things (or in this case, players) aren't really appreciated until they're gone.

10/9 - Chicago vs Saint Louis

Someone with photoshop skills needs to photoshop Hudler's laughing face onto everyone in a Modern Family pic.

Yet the best part is. Nyquist Anderson and Tatar would be the best third in the league. But they're too young. Thank god we have guys like cleary and Sammy instead.

Stuart faces hearing for hit to head

I feel like there's a magic 8 ball in Shanny's desk and he trusts it's judgement.

Three games for that hit is ridiculous.

If you actually believe that, why all the back peddling? Purposefully knocking a teammate out of the line up at practice is not only messed up, but it gets no one anywhere. Teammates and management would hate that player. It's sad that the irrational hatred of our vets on this forum has come to this...

I picture it more like that new Goldberg's show.

Not watching the game, but in other NHL news this evening... @DarrenDreger: Living with the Hudler's seems to agree with Sean Monahan. His 3rd of the season. Flames lead 1-0. "Living With the Hudlers" sounds like a horrible sitcom that would result in me needing brain bleach.

I'd like to see Gretzky make a fuss to get that money. It's a drop in the "Gretzky Bucket", but it also would show fans that the NHL has ZERO problem trying to screw one of the games very best players.

Now we have 2 healthy bodies that should be playing instead of Samuelsson.

Too many people forget this simple fact. To bring it closer to home, its like the people who think you can just buy a house in Detroit these days for $1000 since you always hear about htings like that on the news. While technically that's true, but what also comes along with that "$1000 house" it is the $34,000 in unpaid taxes owed on it.

When I first read the beginning of the headline of the first article that reported this on twitter, it was something like "Fedorov to take final curtain call..." I got OVER THE TOP EXCITED thinking he was confirmed for the alumni game. Needless to say there was some disappointment involved.

I always hate when things that were originally non calls like this, are all of the sudden called like 20 seconds after the fact and only when they think someone may have got injured. Just watch that first video and see how super late of a call it was.

Haha, that blog post is awesome. It's easy for armchair fans like me to look at scoring numbers and wonder why Brunner wasn't resigned (well, initially, anyway), but if you're a coach like Babcock that understands the game on a higher level and has seen mistakes like this over and over again in games and practices...it's no small wonder skilled guys like Brunner and Tatar end up in the doghouse for reasons that seem unwarranted. I really think the whole NHL is just smarter about this kind of thing now. It's really no different than basketball - it's a 5-on-5 game where each player has both offensive and defensive responsibilities. But in the NBA, casual fans seem to understand that a guy that puts up 20 PPG but plays crap defense is a garbage player. Meanwhile, the Marian Gaborik's and poor man's versions of him with offensive skill seem to skate along, and invariably get big money from dumb teams, even though they cost their team as much as they help. To be fair, defensive in hockey is much more amorphous than the largely man-to-man NBA.

Certainly not. You need to go back and re-read that thread. More than a few LGWers were against what Lil Bert did. I was one of the more adamant supporters of what Lil Bert did, but not for the reasons you are describing. I supported Bert because I felt he should - as an agitator - be allowed to agitate, and because he did not initiate the actual fight, Jensen did. He did not run Jensen or make a dangerous play. I think guys like Bertuzzi should be allowed to play rough and tumble, but deliberately attempting to injury another prospect, let alone a full time wing, is beyond going too far. What you're describing is sociopathic. By the way you describe what's stopping Mrazek from arranging a little "accident" after practice for Howard? Do WHATEVER it takes right? Do you really think if Tatar slammed Zetterbergs face into the glass at tryouts he would be on this team? It might free up a spot, but he would be hated by his own teammates and by management as well. Fighting is one thing, and it happens at tryouts and camps when things get heated, but you don't attempt to run or injury a teammate EVER. A guy like that would find himself in the KHL veryyyy quickly.

So you'd be ok with it if Jarnkrok took a run at Zetterberg and injured him to "win the job"? I don't believe you. And this is a big if, but even if you actually believe that it says quite a lot about your character.

No that is not what the draft is about. You have a good draft when you pick talented young players. How they turn out down the road is another story all together. This was a great pick for us in this draft. BTW Vol already has Mantha listed as 6-5/206. So yes he is growing. Yes I understand EVERYONE lies about how big guys really are. But he was listed as 6-3/190 on most draft sites, IIRC the RW site has him as 6-4/190, but now his Junior team lists him as bigger. This is a good thing. Nastasiuk is also off to a good start with Owen Sound. 2 G and 2 A in 4 games so far. He has also grown. Listed as 6-2/196.
