That's on the goalie, the refs only check to see if the goalies are ready to go at the start of periods, otherwise you gotta be ready to go like everyone else unless you've talked to ref about fixing something.

Said it before I'll say it again, I love Brian Lashoff. Despite never scoring, and being on the ice with linemates who never score, he's still a respectable -2...ya know...because he actually plays defense. A far cry from the defensive ubermensch that are Kindl and Smith.

Sweet hockey gods, it feels DAMN good to win comfortably in regulation. Almost forgot that feeling.

We need to have Tootoo in for games when we are facing the likes of players like Prust, Neil, and Dorsett. We don't need to get knocked around causing more injures.

He took a penalty. Smith is officially just now played a full season and personally I've been impressed. Usually 1 penalty or bad giveaway a game but he does good things and looks a lot more poised than last year

After some deep thought, and some soul searching, I strongly believe that Jeff O'Niel is what Garfield would look like as a human.

Apparently Bert broke his stick upon learning he was not playing today. Maybe that'll get him going. Though its gotta be frustrating being scratched over Cleary. I realized Bert hasn't looked great, but hes been better than Clears.

A shots follow through isn't a high sticking penalty, but tonight is different

Andersson seems very expendable at this point. He's solid defensively and good on the PK, but is slow and needs speedy wingers to succeed (see Nyquist and Brunner). I think both Sheahan and Glendening bring more to the team already. There's just too many forwards and not enough cap space if the Red Wings ever get healthy to keep the best players around. Z - Pav - Abby Franzen - Weiss - Nyquist Tatar - Helm - Alfredsson Miller - Sheahan/Glendening - Eaves That would be my ideal forward group. It's just a shame because the dead weight (Sammy, Cleary and Bertuzzi) is preventing any roster flexibility.

Boulton is a soul survivor, that's for sure.
