When you talk about Fedorov are you talking about the two time Selke Trophy winning Sergei Fedorov? The one who learned to play hockey in the Soviet Red Army system which essentially created the "two way forward"? That Sergei Fedorov?

Jackets pull ahead with 2:53 left in the second. Worth noting: the Jackets are right behind the Flyers in the standings. This...does not please Pens fans.

    Iginla-Rinaldo Fight

Iginla should have seen that coming for about six minutes. Also, he's a total tool bag and I like it whenever someone makes him their *****.

I don't think Pav will be at 60%, sounds like 80-90%, fingers-crossed. After surgery Z probably won't be back until he's 100% healthy, and who knows if Weiss will be back at all. The one guy that will be extremely important is E, it will allow us to get Lashoff or Kindle out of the lineup.

    Proud to be.....

I've always been proud to be a Wings fan. Classiest organization in all of sports, great leadership, passionate fan base, original six. Pride has always followed this organization....YZERMAN playing on one knee to lead his team and then him handing that cup to Konstintinov to show his dedication to such a brave man. The way that Zetterberg carried this team on his back to win 4 huge games to get into the playoffs last year. The medical staff, players and coaches who literally saved Jiri Fischers life on the bench after his collapse. There is a lot to be proud of a team so rich in history and yet, somehow i find myself in disbelief about that this current team has done. Three weeks ago this team was in 11th....certain to break the 22 year consecutive years to the post season. Things looked dismal and everyone was critical. Great teams have great players and usually a 1-2 punch. Perry and Getzlaf, Crosby and Malkin, Kane and Toews.....Zetterberg and Datsuyk. Only, we no longer have that 1-2 punch. We have the second most man games lost, but no team has had to endure losing such impact players. We have 6 guys that didn't start the year with this team but will not go down. They are relentless. I keep waiting for Nyquist to be a fluke.....and he has just gotten better. A kid who wasn't on the roster when the puck dropped on then season and he leads the league over the last month in goals? That's fairy tale stuff.....and it's happening right before our eyes, every time this team plays. How about Glendening? This kid wasn't even a thought at the start of the year...now he's up against the top lines of teams shutting it down. Tatar, the day he lost his dad, kissing up to the sky in admiration, playing with a heart as heavy as an anvil......I could go on and on about the pride I feel in this organization and they way that they have overcome adversity. I think we will make the playoffs...I know we WILL but even if we don't. Even if somehow the bounces don't go our way and we find ourselves out of the race April 13th, this team...this unbelievably dedicated, classy and big hearted team has made me prouder to be a wings fan......that's a lot to say in such a consistently successful organization. Good on ya boys......" Dont stop believin'" and we will be just fine!!!!! LGW!!! 23 all the way!

    Iginla-Rinaldo Fight

This kind of play is something the league really has to get rid of IMO. Iginla should get a game misconduct for that. Seriously. Accept the fact that you got smoked, and do what they did in the old days. Take note of the guys number and get him the next time. For the record, I have no problem with fighting and believe its a integral part of the game, but this is just getting ridiculous.

Ex Red Wing Leino gives us a little help and scores the shootout winner against New Jersey, that's great. Columbus gets a point. Toronto gets two. Washington 0 and NJ gets one. Not bad. We're still in that 7th spot with a HUGE game tomorrow. Go Wings!

Good lord. Maybe the ref had...you know...like razor blades tucked in his knuckles? I mean you never know, we don't know his struggles. Coming up from the wrong side of the tracks and whatnot. He had to learn how to take care of himself, no one else was going to. What with his dad leaving when he was four and his mom working three jobs just to make ends meet. He had to make a name for himself on the streets, so no one would mess with his mute brother Clarence. "Razor Fists" they would call him. Now he lies awake at night, wondering how things could have been different. Or, you know, Crysby is a poopy diaper diving baby.

It isn't gonna teach Holland a thing, as he literally almost never makes these kind of trades. It was a circumstance where he HAD to make a move for a center. You act as if he needs to be taught a lesson to never trade a kid again. Yet he is the most stingy GM in the league when it comes to trading prospects since the cap era. Look it up. You're acting as if trading away prospects is Holland's MO, when it is the complete opposite of that. Lucky Goose didn't ask for a trade? Please... Nyquist getting all that AHL time is the reason why he is finding so much success at the NHL level right now. It is why this team is able to develop prospects so well. It is why this franchise has been the envy of the league for a long time. Same goes with Tatar. He didn't threaten to leave, he said he wasn't going to play in the AHL anymore, which we all knew considering, you know, he was out of AHL options and had to be with the big club anyway. Goose and Tatar earned their way into the lineup. They weren't just handed their ice time. Jarnkrok didn't want to earn his ice time. He wanted it right away. That is why the kids we do have are thriving, and why Jarnkrok is gone.

I'm the one who brought up Matthias and you seem to have missed my point. I was not claiming he was a top pick. I said that the wings have kept their prospects and don't need to be taught to think twice about giving up a top prospect (as you have said). They have been quite stingy in giving up youth for quite some time. I used Matthias as an example for how long it's been since the wings have given up a prospect. The fact that Matthias was not a top 3 prospect just further shows that the Legwand trade was special circumstance. Management didn't just randomly make the trade. They know better than us how good Jarnkrok might be and felt the sacrifice was justified.

Ville Leino is doing what it takes to get that #1 pick. He's the only one who really gets it. You mock him now, but one day, when the Sabres are the most dominant team in the modern era, you'll remember Ville Leino, the selfless hero who took it upon himself to turn the organization around and put it on the path to future glory. And you mocked him.
