Props to Aflac for the design inspiration on the scoreboard. Mine doesn't look quite as good as his, but copies never do. Hopefully we get the Wings from Game 1 for this one, and hopefully we get a Nyquist Explosion. He's due for one.

On the Smith/Chara thing. People keep saying it would have been dumb to fight Chara, which it would have been, BUT....I've done plenty of dumb things in my life to prove a point. I'm about half Smith's size but I would have fought Chara to show them we were not backing down. It's a statement. Chara might be big, but that doesn't make him great at fighting. Plenty of big guys have been dropped by smaller guys. If Chara was so confident he would have dropped his stick a lot sooner and left it there for more than half a second.

To be fair, this thread was started in February...of 2013. That's over a year ago. It's a thread that is basically calling Howard an average goalie, with no skills that make him exceptional. There was another thread that was praising Howard, and it started fairly recently, but it was locked because it was going to turn into a "Bash Howard" thread. I agree that nobody has blamed Howard for yesterday's loss, but he is getting called out for his completely stupid play that lead to Boston's first goal. I fully believe that Jimmy is to blame for that one, 100%. If I were a high school football coach, I'd say 115%. Let's be realistic guys...a goal like that can change a game on such a high level. It's one that Booins should not have had. Of course, if Glendenning is our only goal scorer, there's no way to win, so it's on everybody.

Best team in the NHL yet the doom and gloom in here like we lost to the friggin Maple Laughs. A split is what we needed. We win 2 there and that's HUGE, but we got what we expected. The team needs to quit trying to match Boston with physical play, play our game, let the refs [hopefully, maybe, probably not though] call the game properly, and go to the net. But fact is Boston simply could not go down 2 games in this series and expect to win. So they went out there and WON! I got no problem with the game, but if we play into their hands on Tuesday then maybe we can start bitching. Franzen is invisible but Babcock is hopelessly devoted to the veterans that have got him here before. I can't see Franzen staying this s***ty all series ... I hope I am right. Wings will be fine. And Chara was slow to drop the gloves .... cause he was doing Smith a favor? Yehhhhh right. Mucho respect to Smith yesterday getting pounded and pounded and never giving up. Home ice is ours, no excuses about refs, Babcock's lines or physical play. This isn't soccer. TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN, MUCH IS EXPECTED.
