Kane case headed to grand jury
derblaueClaus and 2 others reacted to vladdy16 for a post in a topic
This does nothing to address what she said. She was very specific in saying she speaks only to how she herself would handle the Wings handling the same situation in the same way. Please desist in attempting to rile others up. -

2 pointsI see where you're coming from. Rape is nasty business. However, if he is suspended before it goes to a grand jury, that also opens a door for false claims. Imagine if someone had thought that the Wings were going to beat Tampa last spring so a Tampa fangirl claimed that Tatar or Gus or one of our players had raped her knowing that they'd be immediately suspended. It wouldn't have to be a fan. If someone had a large wager or even if there was a gambling organization that wanted to drop the odds, all they would have to do would be to find a girl to make the claim, even if it would fall apart later. If he's guilty, the team and/or league can ban him for life and be making a statement. If he's innocent, there is no reason that he should have to suffer for something he hasn't done. (We'll find other reasons to hate him.) The only ones who can be judge and jury are the judge and jury.

Kane case headed to grand jury
TheXym and one other reacted to number9 for a post in a topic
Out here in Buffalo I've heard convincing rumors that he did and didn't do it. At this point I think it's fair for Chicago to give him the benefit of the doubt. Fact is the man is still innocent at this point. If that changes I'm all for swift and harsh punishment The best thing that can happen is this goes to grand jury and the truth is exposed for better or worse -

Kane case headed to grand jury

You know what is more disgusting than the Blackhawks organization not suspending Kane until this is resolved? The fact that the Blackhawks organization gave Kane a *public effing platform* to paint his accuser as a liar. A PRESS CONFERENCE. f*** Kane and f*** the s***ty ass Blackhawks. -

P.K. Subban Donates $10 Million Dollars to Children's Hospita
jimmyemeryhunter reacted to PavelValerievichDatsyuk for a post in a topic
But a foundation doesn't isn't always an organization that fundraises. A foundation can be - as It seems to be here - just a governing body that doles out the funds of one large donation. They won't be giving money to every patient's family, because, of course, there's many families don't need the financial help. They will need employees to go over cases one by one, hence the need for a foundation. Many foundations that give money over an extended period of time also invest money that won't be given right away so that real number will end up being greater in funds given away - So the foundation might control that. The article seems pretty clear that Subban is giving 10 million. Not sure why you've interpreted as a promise of 10 million that he will fundraise a portion of. -

Yes, he was. That was a mistake, though, since he played well the rest of the series. Wasn't the healthy scratch a result of him catching that line-drive on the bench or am I messing the timeline up? -

Wasn't he a healthy scratch for the first two games of the Tampa series? -
1 pointHear that everybody? His parents let him do it so it's all good. Just a big misunderstanding. Good luck with that kid. Jack Capuano totally seems like the kind of guy who's willing to tolerate back talk from an 18 year old. Totally.

Is it just me, or has smith been one of our better playoff performers the last two years? Against Boston I was confident every time he was on the ice, and he had a fairly mistake free series vs Tampa, plus he seemed to be buzzing all over the ice. He has impressed me in the playoffs, much more so then in the regular season. No ones going to argue that he doesn't make some bone headed mistakes that make me question his intelligence, but when the speed is ramped up, especially in the playoffs, he seems to thrive. Which is what excites me about him under Blashill, and why I would advocate keeping him around, if even for just his potential. The speed we have coming up through the system could lend itself well to a blue line with smith on it, assuming he can limit his gaffes. -

1 pointRichard Vinnik, Daniel Panik, what's the difference? The only thing that matters here is that SOME Maple Leaf is better than Jurco. Because the Maple Leafs do it right, and the Wings don't. Hence their respective levels of success throughout the years.
-
1 pointHow has Panik proven "way more" than Jurco? Panik has 39 points in 151 games (0.258 points per game) and Jurco has 33 points in 99 games (0.333 points per game). So other than Panik being older and more experienced, Jurco is by far the better player with much higher potential in my opinion. You realize that Panik was a Lightning cast off, and was claimed off waivers by one of the worst teams in the league...

the only difference would be the amount of media attention. I believe the hawks have handled this correctly so far. Until the man has been convicted of a crime he should be able to perform his job, however spotlight worthy it is. -

I understand the philosophy, but a children's hospital just received ten million dollars, I don't care if he gets a banner on the moon saying what he did, it's a good thing.
