I tell you when I go to watch a game, I go to watch THE GAME. I don't meander around, or go to the bathroom (I make sure I go before the game), or buy anything whether food or souvenirs, because I don't want to miss one bit of the action on the ice.

So spending millions of dollars to swap out empty seats makes more sense than lowering ticket prices to actually put butts in those seats?

Hello Everyone, Long time reader, rare poster. A buddy and I are making the trip down to Little Caesars Arena from Ontario on Thursday for the Wings/Leafs game. Was wondering if you folks could give me any tips on stuff to do while we are down there. We are staying overnight, and will be arriving hopefully around 4 PM Thursday. We are looking to get something to eat, and get a buzz going before we go check out the arena and area around it. Suggestions on places to eat/drink would be awesome. All suggestions will be appreciated, I do not wanna spend crazy money and do not really want to go to a dine in restaurant as time will be tight. Greasy food, dives, food trucks etc. Would like to go somewhere that is local, like classic Detroit if that makes sense. Also generally like all types of food. So after food, any suggestions for places to check out near the arena and in the arena itself while we wait for the game to start. After the game, would love to hit up a local bar for a couple drinks or if anyone can suggest something to do on a Thursday in Detroit. We are 24 and drink quite regularly so with that would love some suggestions. Also late night drunk food is a must. I wanna thank you guys in advance for helping me out. I do not get to the games nearly as much as I would like to and really want to make the most of this little trip. Thanks and most importantly, GO WINGS!!

Yeah. Perhaps (d'uhhhhh) A new coach would all of a sudden change the skill level of forwards? Yes, it's Blashill's fault this team doesn't have a Mathews, Laine, McDavid, Eichel, Hall, Kucherov, MacInnon, Kane, Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, etc etc etc etc etc I say, a continuation of hard-core losing, trading, and good drafting over the next 2-3 years is the real answer to that problem. But, keep banging that drum all you want..........

Probably from an accountants view, yes it does. They'll be able to write off a good deal of the costs for improvements. They wouldn't get any tax advantages in lowering ticket prices. And, the problem isn't with unsold seats. It's that no one is buying them on the resale market. All of those empty seats are already sold, it's just getting someone to sit their ass in them. It also doesn't help that all of those empty seats around center ice are part of the clubs that have unlimited food and drinks, right down the portal, 15 feet from the arena seats. Did I forget to mention the leather couches, and TV's everywhere you look? It's like they took The Olympia Club, and then built 3 of them, The Players, West, and East, and they wonder why the arena seats are empty. It was like that all last year. I can't imagine anything has changed since then. I missed the preseason, and the home opener, because I spent a little bit longer than planned, sailing home from training camp, but I'm expecting to see more of the same Thursday night against Tarranna. Maybe some Leafs fans will have sprung for some good seats, and actually make the place look full for a change. Wouldn't it be easier to just project hologram images of people in the stands to make it look full?

This is what i did last time as well. Hotel, Casino, Food all in one place, they have shuttles to the game. It makes things really easy.

How can we possibly lose to these guys? As for places to go... My last visit was several years ago, and I stayed at the Greektown Casino/Hotel...Lots of bars/restaurants in the Greektown area, and getting to the LCA should not be an issue since there's the People Mover (light rail), and numerous bars have shuttle buses. Astoria Bakery is a must before you leave - that's if you got a sweet tooth.

Blashill will lean on the kids heavily and Holland will give him the tools to do this. LGW will still demand their sacking. 3. Kids will do alright. Larkin and Cholowski will emerge as young leaders. We will all circle jerk to this and world peace will be realized. 4. LGW will always ***** about vets. Most will remain numb to this. 5. Abdelkader will be traded at the deadline for a nice return. 6. AA will have an impressive season. Most will be happy about this. 7. Zadina will turn out to be the next Yakupov. 8. @LeftWinger posts will continue to be a thing. 9. @Jonas Mahonas posts will continue to be a thing. 10. Hes crazy and f***s will catch on.

I got you fam, For food (before or after) hit up Lafayette Coney Island and get some coney dogs to stuff down your drunk food holes. You will see American Coney Island next door, and it will appear cleaner and more inviting. This is a trick we play on tourists. DO NOT EAT THERE. Real Detroiters know to eat at Lafayette, trust me. A personal favorite of mine you might consider before the game is Polish Village Cafe. Good beer and dope Polish food. However, it gets kinda packed in there sometimes and it's not in walking distance to the stadium. So if time is an issue maybe skip, but it's really good thou. As for bars, IDK really know anymore. There's plenty of random bars around the stadium. I just made the pilgrimage last week and I just hung out at the checker bar and played pinball with da boys (it's one of them arcade bars).

This simply isn't true... IF we were to luck out in next year's draft lottery and land Hughes, and IF he becomes an 80-100 point player, that doesn't necessarily mean he's captain material. I would consider Larkin / Hughes to be a very similar situation to Toews / Kane. Kane is the much more skilled player, but Toews "Captain Serious" is much better suited as the captain. You, being a Toews fan boy, should know that you don't need to be the best player on the team to be the captain...

Could you imagine the potential for locker room drama if Tavares gets the C, and Matthews doesn't? #MuricanHockeyPlayersMatter

Why would Larkin have to give up the C just because we draft Hughes? The captain doesn't necessarily need to be the best player on the team. Larkin has all the leadership qualities you'd want in a captain. Hughes could be an alternate captain, or maybe not get a letter at all... Matthews doesn't wear a letter, and it looks like they might give the C to Tavares next season. Matthews will likely get an A if that were to happen though.

Just imagine what it would have won with an LED roof. Nobel prize for buildings, I bet.
