I don't think offense will be an issue going forward. We have Larkin, Mantha, Bertuzzi, Veleno, Zadina, and whoever we pick 6th overall again this year (we won't be getting Byram). That should be a solid top 6. Also, having defensemen that can push offense like Hronek, Cholowski and Bouchard should be a solid top 3... I like Athanasiou, but I don't see him as a full-time center, and top 3 defensemen >>> top 6 wingers. -

1 pointFair enough. I do think that in Yzermans case he had a cup contender and he was trying to lock up a very strong team, in Holland case the team was mediocre and regressing. Personally I wasn’t a fan of our guys getting those NMC/NTC while us not being that great. I do think Holland always did a great job of signing his RFAs. The Larkin deal was one of the best made last year. But some of his signings from 2014-2016 were head scratching.

1 pointYeah, I'm saying IF the top 5 go down as Wheeler laid it out, I'd trade back, and Caufield would be a potential pick in a trade back scenario, or maybe even Zegras or Krebs...

1 pointTrading back could be the smart play, depending on what the Wings' board looks like and how the first five picks play out. I'm not sure I like Caufield at 6, but if we can get an additional 1st or 2nd out of a trade back, maybe that offsets some of the risk.

It's absolutely possible they can pull off another upset. They already knocked off two 100 point+ teams, one being the defending Cup champs. I see quite a few writing off Carolina already, but I really don't see what Boston has that they can't overcome. -
