I guess I'm just kinda wondering what the plan is here. Larkin right now is probably the best he's going to be. Seider and Raymond have become leaders and this is the last time you'll have them on ELCs. Lyon feels a bit like lightning in a bottle; he could fall off next season and then we'd be boned in net. If we're waiting for the next wave of prospects to establish themselves as impact players, we're probably gonna be waiting another two or three or more years. Edvinsson's probably gonna be RealGud at some point, but I dunno that he's a serious impact NHLer now or even next season. I'm happy that Kasper's playing better of late, but I dunno that he's an impact NHLer next season or even the season after that. Danielson probably spends at least a year in the AHL. ASP's got a long way to go, I fear. Soderblom's starting to feel like a 7th-round pick. Berggren seems to be on his way out. Mazur...is pretty good...in the AHL...when he's not hurt...? So...what's the score? Where we at? Are we waiting for Seider to learn how to play 50 minutes a night? Are we waiting on a big fish in free agency? I'm not even asking for any blockbuster moves. I just want winning to be rewarded. If we're still in a wildcard spot at the end of the month, I think the worst thing you could do to this team is tell them: "Well, this was never really gonna be a big push year for us anyway, because we've got prospects coming and that means we have to wait a bit longer, because what we're working towards is having a team that's got some depth to it. And the D group I put together was really more just kind of a treading water kinda thing, because we've got some prospects coming." Don't mortgage the future. But if it really does look like we're headed for a best-of-seven with Boston/Florida/NYR, let's invest in ruining that franchise's season.

What impresses me is the term. Ras is just hitting his prime, so we got him for 4 years of prime at this value. Thats sweet.

4 x $3,200,000 contract for Michael Rasmussen is a solid offer for both Ras and Detroit.

Seider will be next. Yzerman is prioritzing size and working his way down.

If anything, the Rasmussen deal puts Raymond in the 6M ballpark considering he has double points but way less defensive responsibility.

Seems like a lot of cash to me. Raymond gonna cost $8M now. Seider gonna hit 10.

I watched the video finally and this idea where you HAVE to have a superstar seems meh to me. Remind me the number of cups between McJesus and Matthews? Ovie has like 1, Crosby has 3 but they also drafted beyond stupid in the early 2000s which led to him having a hella supporting staff. I think the ability to roll 4 lines that can defend and score is better than a loaded 1st line of "stars" and of course you need a solid G. Are our forward lines all that great probably not but are they all pulling the sled the same way I think so. I think this team has that play for each other mentality which as we have seen minus the Oil/Nucks games enables the non panic attitude when down. Our D ...not going there...LOL Do we have that solid dependable non-superstar G ...maybe/maybe not. Reimer needs to come in and cover a game or 2 up to the TDL and bit beyond looking at the next 9 games. Where else do you give LION a rest or do you? Avs, Blues back to back with Hawks so Reimer plays Caps, Islanders, Cats, Avs Coyotes back to back with Vegas so Reimer plays Overwork last year as we know was Husso's downfall. I beginning to think Husso might be toast for the season which to be honest might not be that bad.

AMEN! Also, what's the point of having a 4-line-deep top offence if it's not to flex in the post season. Like, for example, this team has better D and goaltending then the Leafs and will get goals out of more than 1 or 2 players in April. If those 1 or 2 players even show up.
