Over the past few years the US Gov't has more or less admitted that there are UFOs and other such anomalies that cannot be explained...I really believe that - in fact I think you're an imposter - a 'body snatcher' if you will...You see - the real Kip that I remember several years ago didn't highlight the physical/tougher side of the game as you do...Quite honestly I like this alien Kip better.

Tom Wilson takes a roughing penalty 1:30 into the Caps game, just setting the tone. I'd kill for a guy like that on this team. And Joel Quenneville too.

Don't know about you guys, but i LIKE Danny DeKeyser as a Red Wings broadcaster. I'm ok with Howard not appearing anymore and DeKeyser filling in for all his work.

Perhaps Bettman and Yzerman have had a chat we don't know about. Perhaps Bettman has notified Stevie that he can't move the Wings up to the #3 slot from a playoff position. Is the tank fully on and we're just not grasping what is happening? Seriously, if we don't find an actual 2C in the offseason I'm going to make "Free Dylan Larkin" t-shirts to wear to every game I attend next year. I cannot believe we've been looking for a 2C since we signed Stephen Weiss and we still don't have one.

I am liking Critical Kip better than High and Mighty Kip, as well.

Yeah, I definitely was into the analytics stuff hardcore for a while. I was wrong. I still don't like the Matt Rempe and Ryan Reeves of the league, and I think their staged fights are idiotic. But I'd gladly sacrifice 10-15 points per player to make sure that every guy on my team gives a sh*t and isn't a p*ssy.

This team has zero identity right now. We should have sold some of these dead weight defenders at the deadline.

Here's another thing probably nobody knew about hockey: Who knew that a bunch of 5'11, 185 lb. wingers would have a hard time winning puck battles? Like, how could SY have known that wouldn't work? One day someone is going to come along and revolutionize the game by using big, powerful, fowards. I'm not sure what these "power forwards" will be called, but I think it'll really catch fire.

We've had a zillion powerplays that haven't led to jack squat and our broadcasters are out here talking about not getting any luck. He's a better backup than Howard. But Keating, Murph, and Osgood are the dream team.

This team has been a joke for almost a decade. Can't blame the fans. Yzerman made a huge misstep during the deadline. And an even bigger misstep by hiring Lalonde. Pizza boy junior needs to make the playoffs an ultimatum next year.

It reminds me of Blash... like we're STILL trying to play like the post-Bowman Wings. PP is our enforcer, subtle interference, possesion oriented, non-physical cutesy euro style, BS. We need a coach with the balls to stop trying to ram idealistic systems down the teams throat, and actually come up with something original that maximizes the the strengths of the roster. Like im not even surprised Kostin didnt even work out for a full season. But why go out and get guys like that if youre not gonna use them properly anyway. My jimmies are starting to get rustled again

Neither Chiarot nor Petry are especially good defensively. Petry should be a 7th defenseman and Chiarot should be paired with someone who can actually defend. Also, it wouldn't kill Chiarot to actually play physical (with someone other than Raymond) once in a while. The two most frustrating things about this team's play (not roster construction) are their half-assed passing and their absolute unwillingness to finish a goddamn check. If you're not counted on to score you better be grinding guys down. I have to think that Derek doesn't want guys doing it because there's no other reason why Ras, Veleno, Fischer, Copp, Chiarot, Petry, Maatta, Walman, or Fabbri don't finish checks. It drives me absolutely crazy.

Is it me, or have coaches out there been fired for less? Other than some dumb luck and a few impressive wins - Newsie once again appears to be about as capable as what we had in Blashill.

If last night didn't wake a Red Wings fan up from Petry/Chiarot are good fantasy land, NOTHING WILL. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE STOP DEFENDING BEN CHIAROT. He has NOT been better this year. I feel like I need to pin some of your guys' eyes open clockwork orange style and make you watch clips of Ben Chiarot getting cycled on for 15 minutes a game and giving up 5 goals against Buffalo. Strap you down in a chair until you finally say "Enough, I want us to win. I'm sorry. Ben Chiarot isn't doing better. He's terrible.". You guys all wanted Brendan Smith hanged when he was here. Chiarot is 3 times as bad, and everybody wants to defend him constantly. Why? Does his Corsi For % need to be under .10 before you change your minds? It really doesn't need to be this hard. Out Chiarot, In Edvinsson. Out Petry, In Johansson. Can you imagine if Buffalo had played Chiarot and Petry last night instead of Power and Byram? They didn't. They played their YOUNG, MOBILE, GOOD defensemen. and they absolutely torched our OLD, IMMOBILE, TRASH defensemen. Chiarot is NOT doing better. He's the same TRASH he's been since he played game 1 with us. 2 more years of him could kill our entire rebuild and turn it into a re-rebuild.
