Franzen needs to play like he's playing every game not just when other key guys go down. Isn't he suppose to be a key player on this team?

I'm all for mule speaking up. I like that. Coaching also tends to be overlooked. This goes a long way. Babs isn't bad but there's just something about these horrific 3rd periods that make you scratch your head and wonder why they can't play harder and smarter when the other teams decide to bring it. I mean the defense has been downright scary in every 3rd period and clutch saves don't seem to exist either. I just can't understand why they poop the bed in the final 20 minutes of every game.

To hell with the last 5 games dude....Nyquist has like 27 points in the last 21 games I think. He's been like Z Jr lately. We may make the playoffs on his back this year. That sounds like a future leader to me. And yes, his posts are often quite funny.

I think it is easy to understand. The other team kicks it up another gear, and brings out the inexperience in our young players. It leads to them making mistakes. But they are getting better. That is what matters. It was different when we had the likes of Lidstrom and Zetterberg out there to close out games.

Some will point out he hasn't scored in a few games. But when it comes down to it, that first line has been playing the opponents best shut down guys every night, which frees up Gus and the kid line to work their magic.

Franzen is worth every penny. He has always been streaky but can win a series by himself if he gets hot. I dont care about all the haters now Ill take him at that price any day.

I agree. Even if he retires early and we take a small hit on the recapture penalty I won't be upset. He's been good for the majority of this year, and if he's hit a cold streak right now I won't be too upset if it means he'll turn hot again going into the playoffs, most fans of other teams will tell you he isn't someone you want to play against

My dog is very effective playing defensively with Glen and Miller. I think Franzen and Quincy are very underrated here and Bert is overrated. Poor D skills and very minimal O skills. Essentially a SO specialist at this point in his career.

if one thing has been made clear with these injuries, it's that tatar/nyquist are not players in the mold of datsyuk/zetterberg - they aren't the guys that are going to carry your team. they're secondary players.

For a legit #1 or #2... I might bite. ...but what team can just give away that caliber of defenseman for as F. Michael put it so well. "The epitome of hot/cold."

He's as good or better defensively than the other 3 so it seems to me you're just illustrating my point.

Defense, leadership, magic hands, etc etc. I and most importantly GIVE 100% EVERY GAME....Franzen not so much. Hell at least Tatars tries defensively, granted he fails at it. But he actually makes an effort.
