derblaueClaus 1,668 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 Yep, if BOS looses to the caps tonight, they will be tied in points with Ottawa (95) ( this is there game in hand) so both Ottawa and Boston will be 1 back from the Pens (96) and 2 behind us (97) Boston has Florida and Tampa to play, Pitt has NYI and Buffalo to play. Boston could be out if they were to loose the next game and only get a point in their last. Pitt would need to loose both OR get help from Ottawa...but all of these scenarios are dependant on the other teams. But they won't be out both. We have 3 teams fighting for two wildcard spots. Two of them will make it. 2 krsmith17 and chaps80 reacted to this
chances14 227 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 Is there any combination that will make both Boston and Pittsburgh out of playoffs? nope. there is currently 5 teams fighting for 4 spots. so only one team is going to miss the playoffs

Motown4013 350 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 But they won't be out both. We have 3 teams fighting for two wildcard spots. Two of them will make it. yeah, sorry about that...you are right- NYI haven't clinched yet so I was looking at 5 teams and 4 spots....(with the OT loss to Philly) but they play the Pens tomorrow night. My bad- sorry about that peeps. Either way, seeing Ottawa in and #ittsburg or Boston out would make the playoffs just that much sweeter! as long as the Wings get in, all is good but a boston or Pitty falling out would be awesome
BuckeyeWingsfan80 209 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 Can't we bend the rules somehow and let Florida in on some technicality? Let in Columbus so I can go to a game or 2....besides they are playing the best out of anyone in the league right now...Florida is garbage. 1 chaps80 reacted to this

chances14 227 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 so with the bruins loss tonight, there is another way the wings can clinch tomorrow if the wings get a point tomorrow and boston loses in regulation, the wings will clinch a spot, regardless what the other teams do
kipwinger 8,524 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 Everybody snickers about Florida, but they're just like Columbus. They're going to come out of the blue suddenly and start kicking the crap out of all the regulars. Tallon has done a good job drafting down there, and that team is moving in the right direction. 3 haroldsnepsts, Son of a Wing and marcaractac reacted to this

RedWingsRox 614 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) I hope Florida has the same mentality as CBJ, play loose and try to kick some teams out of playoffs like what they did to Pitts the other night. Edited April 9, 2015 by RedWingsRox

Jersey Wing 1,521 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 And let's not forget Boston is AT Tampa the last game of the season. The Bolts may well still have something to play for and we know Boston will. I wouldn't hold out much hope of the Rangers making a huge home stand against Ottawa, they've clinched the President's Trophy and #1 unless my math is wrong. They may rest some guys. YEP, just checked katie Strang on Twitter, the Rags ARE resting guys tonight: Katie Strang @KatieStrangESPN · 33m 33 minutes agoRangers have recalled Ryan Bourque and Chris Summers from Hartford, a good indication that they'll be looking to get some other guys rest

Right now the sens are not a team I would want to deal with in the playoffs. We used to rest guys all the time before playoffs. Why play guys when they could get injured and damage your playoffs chances, One thing in our favour in that game is I believe King Henrik is playing, and he has been getting better and better as he is finding his game to be ready for the playoffs.
