What about Tatar and Nyquist? Do you want either of those turds back? They're in their mid 20's and have stunk three playoffs in a row.

Whats sad is u just named all the new aspiring talent lol.

Hopefully larkin and AA grow from this. I still like Mrazek over howard. Growing pains. Remember ozzie went through it with san jose in 1994? I dont rmember the year lol

I dont want tatar or nyquist back. They stopped developing.

It reminded me of game 7 vs san jose and ozzie early in his career. I hoe the same result occurs and mrazek gets stronger from it.

Man, I remember that well. That's the moment that led to Vernon being traded for to solidify things and mentor Osgood.

I'm not blaming Mrazek for the loss (entirely), but I'm definitely giving him a chunk of blame for the goal. The other chunk is for Kronwall.

Ya maybe a small chunk but I can't complain about the way the team defended tonight they barely gave up any chances and had so many grade A ones but again suck hard on the finish. Things won't change until this roster changes abs finds a couple pure goal scorers. Don't care if they are not two way players we need to score

Blashill was so worried the young guys would cost him the series, the vets did. Coaching not to lose is not the right mentality in the playoffs.

The kids played fine, but they never had a chance to make or break this series. I know Blashill is smarter than me when it comes to this stuff, but man, I like our chances if it's our kids against theirs. I guess we wait until next season when that's all we have.

Crap lines. No real adjustments. Failure to get Mrazek going at the end of the season, who clearly once again proved to be the vastly superior playoff goalie. Ericsson. Mediocrity reigns in far too many areas of this team these days, and it's nothing short of sad.

I really, really, really hope Datsyuk finishes out his contract and gives it one more year, but it's based on a surely stupid hope that someone in management will finally do something to get this team going in the right direction again, and the likelihood of that happening is slim to none.

Either way though, if this proves to be it for Datsyuk, it's going to really sting...

I hope so too, but watching the hand shake line (maybe I'm over thinking it), sure seemed like someone who was leaving the league...

We say this every year then the wings end up signing or re-signing some washed up over the hill veteran.

Amazing post.

And mantha got zero playoff experience. Imagine if just one or two more pp goals get scored with Mantha in the lineup, how much that changes the series....

LOL. No, it couldn't. The games were close, but the two teams aren't. They're a lot better than us.

They didn't really look like it. Only games they outscored the Wings by more than one was the first two. Once the Wings actually got some goaltending, it was pretty close. The missed PPs and breakaways and golden chances were the killer.

Man, like I said in the GDT, I don't feel as disappointed in the loss as I did in the past few years. Maybe it's because the Wings barely made it in when everyone expected them to miss the playoffs. If anything, I feel worse about how this is likely the way Datsyuk will end his career as a Red Wing. Well, I guess Lidstrom and Yzerman didn't really have the best ends to their legendary careers either. In any case, I'll always cherish the memories of Pavel Datsyuk dazzling us with his magic. I'm sure I'll be showing my future children and grandchildren ancient highlight clips from YouTube of the Magic Man. Thanks for all the fun, Pavel. It was a hell of a show.
