No one is keeping you on it. I'm sure Toronto fans would love to have your shining personality join their forum.

Toronto's the best positioned Canadian team right now and they have my mancrush, lord Babcock. You might be right

Six pages of (mostly) hatred for a guy who:

A) Will play on the fourth line/serve as a healthy scratch.
B) Fail to crack the roster, and get demoted to the AHL.

I've never really been a fan of Ott, nor am I saying it's a good signing, but... holy overreaction. Never change, LGW.

I'm not wrong. Hits, Penalty Minutes, Fights have 0 correlation with winning. McCarty having a lucky playoff game that one time is pretty insignificant in the long run when he's a net negative for his entire career.

McCarty 96-97: 49pts in 68 games Can't do anything else????!!!

Also you saying he's a net negative: Do you mean +/-? Because he's a +61 in his career.

He was playing at least 18 minutes a game and his even strength numbers weren't spectacular. Never had a year even come close to being as good as that one.

+/- is useless without accounting for team relativity. When I mean net negative, I mean replace him with average 3rd liner and the team improves.

2013 Tomas Tatar > McCarty in any year. tbh

Lmao guys. This is the same troll that came into the "Gordie Howe passed away" thread and tried to start an argument about how Gordie wasn't the greatest Red Wings.

http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/topic/81346-gordie-howe-has-passed-away-1928-2016/?p=2677359

I don't know how you could have seen exactly 0 footage of Howe and think he's better talent-wise than 5, 19 or 91. Stop flaming me. I'm not looking to start a war with anyone.

Tatar may be a better scorer, but you can't have a successful team comprised of all one type of player. There is a reason every team then had a "checking" line. Swapping Tatar for McCarty would've made it more difficult to win.

I'm merely pointing out to other members about your post history so they don't take your bait. You were the same guy who tried to start an argument in the Gordie Howe memorable thread and here you are baiting us on about McCarty. It's a Steve Ott thread anyway.

Not really a bait when it's a pretty common opinion to have.

A common opinion that literally know shares with you in here so far and I guarantee the majority of hockey fans do not share either. Do you need a schooling on what "common" means?

Nah, there's plenty on HFboards who admit Howe is no Steve Yzerman.

When you post that in a memorial thread right after he died, its trolling and in ridiculously poor taste. If that is a topic you legitimately want to discuss, you start a thread called "who is the greatest Red Wing of all time".

No, it's a response to those on twitter, on the forums who are spouting off "GOAT" even though they never saw footage of his play. I don't even know why this is being discussed. You people are trolling, IMO.

Again, time and place. Substance is not the point.
