Weegar just started an 8 year extension this past season, not sure acquiring 7 years of that would be smart. Plus I would assume that if they just gave him 8 years last summer, they probably like the guy. Mangiapane at 1 year would be nice though. I bet we could pry Andersson out of there, considering the 7 years left on Weegar, plus the other D-men they have. They are still pretty solid even without Andersson. #15 plus more picks and a player(s)/prospect(s) for Andersson and Mangiapane!

IF we could acquire Andersson then also re-sign Kane, sign Domi and Bertuzzi, we'd be in good shape for a playoff run. But we'd definitely need to shed some cap before this can happen! If we dealt Husso, I'd even try to sign Samsonov from Toronto. No doubt they are looking for changes! Top 6 Bertuzzi - Larkin - Raymond Kane - Domi - DeBrincat Top 4 Walman - Seider Edvinsson - Andersson G's Samsonov Lyon You'd still get younger by having Berggren, Edvinsson, Johansson on the team.

Trade the 15th, Husso, Veleno to Calgary for Markstrom and Andersson Trade the 15th, Veleno to Ottawa for Chychrun Trade the 15th, Veleno, Fabbri, McIsaac to Anaheim for Fowler and Zegras Dunno, I'd like to upgrade using that pick for sure! Hell even if Calgary would do the 15th straight up for Andersson. Speaking of Toronto, if we are able to shed cap, I'd still throw an offer to Domi and Bertuzzi.

Now unless you've flipped some of the above traded players with picks to upgrade, then that is STILL a lot of cash to make your team MUCH better and STILL be younger. I realize this is a lot of players being dealt, but honestly, a couple could go together with a pick to get one guy.

There's a lot of good talent in the top 10. IF Detroit happens to FINALLY get some lottery luck and jump to 5, I would explore options of trading back a few spots to upgrade the D.
