    1) It's moreso out of boredom than really "being down". 2)You do not really have legit beef. This Website Owes or Promises you nothing. You do not pay for anything. Your sense of entitlement is hilarious. 3)Once again you act as if age is relevant to this situation, when it is not at all. 4) The reason you were upset was a poll about how people you will never meet and have no ability to influence an outcome on the subject felt about it. Seeing as there was already a thread that was essentially discusing the exact same thing, I just found your anger comical. Edit: OH NO GUYS HE KEEPS NEGGING ME! NOT MY INTERNET REPUTATION...

Who wants to bet "Detroit Sucks" is chanted during the rising of the banner? ******* awesome fans in Chicago, awesome. Cheer for your goddamn team and get over the obsession with Detroit.

Sign him up. I love Modano. He's given his best years to Dallas, but he's probably got something left, and he'd certainly bring intangibles to the ice. If he won a Cup with the Wings, he would have a legitimate Cup with his name on it, too. Bonus!

Plus/minus can be such a tricky stat. It's interpreted so many different ways. While I agree with a lot of what you've said here, I feel compelled to respond to your mention of Brett Lebda. What wouldn't surprise you, is that Lebda was Jonathan Ericsson's most common partner 5-on-5 last season, playing over 326 minutes together overall. However, during that time they were only minus-1 together. Compare that with Ericsson's time on the ice with Brad Stuart and you get a much different picture. While paired with Stu for only 126 minutes during the season, they were a truly horrendous minus-12. This isn't a damnation of Brad Stuart, I just mention this because I think it more clearly displays the possible reason behind Ericsson's poor +/- during the season -- he just couldn't step up and play against top-6 forwards. This I do find at least a little concerning. After the Red Wings' saw the return of many of their injured players, Ericsson's +/- improved. I don't think that had anything to do with Lebda though. In that late part of the season, Lilja became Ericsson's partner and together they were plus-1 in 166 minutes together. A rusty Lilja wasn't much of an upgrade over Brett Lebda, in my humble opinion. The statistical improvement Ericsson saw seems to be a product of the Red Wings' increased success and the reduced responsibility he was given. Back to my conern, I do find it a little troublesome that whenever a more challenging assignment was bestowed upon JE, for the most part, he failed. He'll need to be able to answer those challenges soon, or it's doubtful he'll be that oppressive top-4 defenseman many Wings' fans hoped he would become. Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there. In case you're wondering where all this came from, all stats can be found at my blog, Word on a Wing

I felt like that article was more of a downer to those who desperately want some classic toughness on the team. I mean, "If we can't fit it in, we would go without it." Not something I imagine the pro-enforcer crowd likes to hear.

FinWing, did I ever make any bold statement about this Filppula kid?I already stated that I know little to nothing about this kid.Can you not read my Native English speaking text? As for the personal attacks,I've noticed them during your arguments with other posters, not me.I can give a s*** less about what you think. You know more about Finnish leagues than the NHL,so why don't you go back to an FEL forum where you belong. Thank you

I keep coming in here, hoping to see some more videos, or updates to this thread that are relevant and yet, all I see are 3 pages of bickering. I think it's time for a mod to lock this thread and put an end to this already...

Holland Looking to sign an Enforcer

I think everyone is reading WAY too far into a lot of this... most of the reports Holland "leaks" are lip service... I don't think there's any intention of bringing Maltby back, I think he's just saying that out of respect for what Maltby did for us and maybe helping him up his stock to latch on somewhere else... As for Miller, he is an RFA and all he did was qualify him, that's just good GM work, if we can sign him for another 550k or so, he's a great filler and if we run out of roster spots, waive him and send him to GR, if he doesn't clear, well... it's no worse than had we never signed him in the first place, is it? Next, Illari is waiver eligible and will likely be in GR all year, but if he impresses, could fill a nice filler role for call-ups and if we catch lightning in a bottle, then it's a GREAT signing - for the millionth time - ZERO risk, high reward potential - another GREAT GM move And adding a guy who isn't afraid to drop them and muck it up, does not mean "goon" in today's NHL - Guys like Asham, Konopka, Artukyin, etc... are still bottom liners, but they can still skate and even occasionally score 10 a year... fillers with bite is really what they are, and THAT'S what you need in a cap world, fillers that fill a role and one of those roles, is to "keep the flies off"

if abby would drop the gloves we really wouldn't need an enforcer.

the wings play the hawks 8 times/year. that's 10.25% chance that the wings are going to be playing the hawks on the banner game. and if they play the hawks early in the year, there's an even better chance. i like it personally...just like carman said, it'll add fuel to their fire. listen to the interviews with wings players. it stings them when they don't win it cause they have a legitimate shot every year. lids don't like it when someone else has his cup!

    Annoying Fan Stories

I doubt we'll see horns etc. allowed soon in a closed arena for NHL or NBA games, but vuvuzelas/horns are part of the fan experience for a lot of international soccer matches and locations and have been for a long while, so don't know what to tell ya there... EDIT: Now that I think about it, Sacramento when they were good and consistently made the playoffs in the NBA recently, fans bought cowbells for noisemakers when the other team shot free throws and stuff. Nashville fans have whistles for the Tootoo thingy. Neither bother me because it's part of the fan experiences there and they aren't hurting anybody so... And I've been to a game in Nashville before, experience and atmosphere and Nashville area were great. As long as you don't throw any projectiles or drinks at me when I'm not doing anything to provoke you or threaten me or ruin the fan experience of others (i.e. cursing obnoxiously over and over again with kids around, etc.) or whatever, I don't give a damn what fans do. Every team is going to have their bad apple fans so unless it's just something really out of whack, it's just something I don't go out of my way to worry about or get upset about really.

If he comes to us for free, like say an internship, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

They didn't beat us to get there. It's just another game as far as the Red Wings are concerned. Our job is to win, and hopefully we will. Let them raise their banner -- they earned it. If we win it this upcoming season, return the favor and have the Hawks come to town for that.

Huh? Third line center with talented wings, maybe some PP time. I will take that in a heartbeat.

    July 1st...

isn't it funny that everytime some mentions something about wanting to get bigger and they are kinda bored with all the small players on the Wings, they get a negative? It's like just because someone would like to see a player above 6'2" and over 210lbs. they aren't really a Wings fan. (bring on the negatives) edit: I gave you a positive to bring you back even! Plus I totally agree with you! I got two negatives just because! Too Funnyt! I didn't even say anything negative! You guys really are ****** bags!

He's not just good, he's the best 155 lbs fighter ever. If GSP was BJ Penn's size BJ would have destroyed him. Pound for pound there is no better all around mixed martial artist than BJ Penn.
