Nobody thinks that. You overdramatize everything regarding Hudler. Nobody thinks he is the second coming of Jesus, and we get that you hate them. We understood this a long time ago. The only person making a giant soap opera about Hudler is you, nobody else. And it is absolutely aggravating after the 500th time that you've done it. Your posts regarding him are dead weight, so there's no need to talk about him. Anyways, the Wings are good enough to win the Cup.

Because they are the best ******* team in hockey

I'm so sick of people saying we have the same team as we had last year. Last year was an enigma in terms of injuries, and even when players came back they were not in top form. I believe we have one of the best rosters in the league. For those of you who forgot, this was our ACTUAL STARTING LINEUP at one point in the season: http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php/topic/62193-1219-gdt-red-wings-3-at-dallas-stars-4/ Bertuzzi-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Leino-Abdelkader-Eaves Draper-Helm-Miller May-Newbury-Maltby Lidstrom-Meech Janik-Rafalski Lebda-Stuart We are NOT going to be the same team as last year.

Williams and Lebda are gone. That's good enough for me.

I'm not sure how mean steaks and locker room cancer really correlate at all. Usually the guys who will go out there and fight and take one for the team are the ones that are liked the most in the dressing room.

Exactly. I mean, I'm not Canadian, but I was born and raised in California, and so were my parents, so if you want to talk about out-of-market fans, I'm about as out-of-market as they come. My city (San Diego) doesn't have a hockey team, so I got to pick whatever team I wanted when I started watching hockey. I could've picked the Ducks, which are the closest team to me, but do they have the history, tradition, class, and passion of the people involved with the Wings organization? I don't think so. On one hand, I appreciate the league expansion because it means I can go see an NHL game without having to drive 1,000 miles to the north or 2,000 mi to the east. On the other, I think the NHL undervalues its roots and the rich history that come with Original 6 teams like the Wings. This might just be me, but in a city where not a whole lot of things are more than 50 years old, I really like being able to be part of something that stretches back almost to the beginning of the last century for a change, instead of cheering for a team that started when I was 8.

    Getting Rid of diving

tootoo with a nice dive here, this an example where even though they scored, at least a 2 min in the box w/no powerplay would be used i know obvious troll is obvious, but if you didn't see anderson's dive you are blind

Minus some of the douchiness of guys like Perry, I wholeheartedly agree. I would love for the Wings to be more like the Ducks were. The year the Ducks won the Cup, I'm pretty sure they also had the most penalties in the league. I'd love to watch a Wings team that beat you as they beat you.

I'm actually a suicidal Leafs fan. I joined LGW after my psychiatrist advised me to. It beats the hell out of anti-depressants and it's much cheaper!

Are We Not Good Enough to Win the Cup?

1st. I've read by multiple posters that Hudler can't be traded this season. How accurate it is your guess. But it makes sense. 2nd. Hudler > Williams

the wings are deep on centers, as for winning faceoffs, it'd probably be easier if the linesmen were ******* fouls and didn't single out detroit for some faceoff cheating that every other teams does just as much.

Are We Not Good Enough to Win the Cup?

I'm not sure. I'm obviously hopeful and optimistic. But cautiously on both accounts. I still think we're too small and not physical enough when it comes to crunch time. Of course we did add happy Hudler so that instantly makes us bigger and tougher.

    That wasn't our playoff lineup.

The organization is based on class and the character of not only the players, but the rest of the staff. They show respect to everyone, they treat each other and their players as family. They also never panic, no matter how dire the circumstance I always see the confidence in their eyes. That's the identity I fell in love with, so yea, if the character/identity of the Red Wings was changed to represent what's wrong with the NHL, I wouldn't care for them anymore, regardless of what superstar player they drafted.

    Andrew Ladd ?...

LOL, right. So you tout his abilities at the same time as you're claiming that he'll come cheap. Right; excellent logic. Will you please quit it with the inane sign/trade/line threads? The first one you made suggested that we'd be able to get Bobby Ryan for $3.45m, and the rest haven't been any better.

Great signing? You guys are out of your mind. He's the Russian Cujo.

As long as #5 is around, I think the Red Wings are legitimate contenders.

we made offers to these guys. All of them are RFAs. Why there are now news? Do they want to get offers sheets? Did they already declined? (meanwhile is this possible for RFAs without going for arbitration)... So many whys from me... sorry.

Hudler will be a big catalyst on the powerplay. Book it. Our percentage will go up a fair amount with him on the team. Special teams wins games... especially in the nuNHL

Patrick Kane is a prime example of having elite talent and being in the NHL even when he probably hasn't worked as hard for it as many other guys.

None of our RFA's are significant targets for an offer sheet. Helm is the highest profile guy and no one in their right mind would offer him something Holland can't match.
