I think he proved with his play last season on a pretty bad Dallas team that the desire is still there... whether you like or dislike the signing, you can't argue that he is an asset, not a liability and will only make a team better on a 3rd line role.... keep in mind, he had 11 more pts than Miller in 21 less games last year... Umm... how is it a kick in the face to Dallas? THEY were the ones who said they didn't want him back. It was a kick in the face to Modano.

For me it's not so much about bashing Lebda, but the disbelief that Toronto would give him a 600k raise. I was never a Lebda fan, but now our bottom pairing is an even bigger unknown.

I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out Modano decided to play yesterday, but was told not to reveal it until after Probert's funeral. I expect an announcement tomorrow afternoon or Saturday Morning.

My definition of earned pretty much covers coming back from a very difficult injury just before the Olympics, getting himself into good enough game shape to rack up points in the playoffs and have a major impact. Not to mention taking over a game and exploding. Guy is playoff money. I wouldn't argue Datsyuk and Zetterberg over him, but the rest you listed are just silly.

Does anyone else see the irony of the N. American hockey league using a centrally planned system (salary cap) and the Russian using more of a free market system for a team's roster based on supply and demand and simple cost/benefit projections?. Sheesh. What's this country coming to?

If we're giving up Ritola as well, we better get a LOT more than just Boll in return... Miller for Boll straight up would be an even trade... Lets not overvalue Boll just because he'll drop the mitts, he'd be a nice addition here, but Ritola has a LOT of potential and shouldn't be written off as just being an extra piece, also keep in mind that he is only 23 and will only get better...

It's a pretty good size store. That was just the goaltenders room. Each wall had their own thing. One wall was blockers and gloves, the other was nothing but chest protectors, and so on. It's a cool store. There are two of those stores, one in So Cal, and the other one is in Sweden.

Last time we won the Cup, we had grinders and defensively responsible forwards on our 3rd line. Namely, Cleary, Draper and Drake. I don't see how you can say it's different nowadays somehow. Wings aren't above anyone else in that department. We need balance just as much as other teams do. In fact, every time we've won the Cup, we had that. Just sayin..
