That is really absolute bulls***. I guess the NHL decided Chicago might need some help to make the playoffs. Either that, or the war room thinks about it like this... Kicking motion = no goal Not completely across the line = no goal (negative)*(negative) = positive, therefore, (no goal)*(no goal) = goal Makes perfect sense now. Two negatives equal a positive.

Massive hyperbole for the win I suppose. Not sure what the Wings have done in the last half of the season to earn such magnificent defense and praise but I guess that's just me. Nightfall: I did before you and Crymson went on with your regular "attack of the posters" crusade. You guys are just too busy jumping up in defense of any player or part of this team that is criticized with sarcasm and exagerrated statements that you didn't notice it. Detroit cup winning teams of the past might have sleptwalk towards the end of the season. But this team hasn't shown (except in the first 20 or so games against weaker competition and an easier schedule) that they have the same talent, drive, and overall consistency to perform like they did in the post season. That is why people are so pessimistic.

No conspiracy just a shameful lapse in integrity for marketing purposes. But like most Hawks "fans" you have only been watching hockey for 2 or 3 years.

1. There's no "we". Chicago got a huge gift, you didn't. 2. You're correct in saying not one replay showed conclusively the puck didn't go in the net - ALL of them showed the puck not conclusively in.

So as always, anyone calling you out for how often you give up when the Wings aren't dominant and for how often you levy nonsensical criticism, and anyone who disagrees with you on said criticisms, is a complete moron and an utter homer, and you are the ultimate fan. Got it. Howard never spends any time in the offensive zone. I dunno why.

Well, s***. That's it. The Wings will never make 3rd seed now. The division is lost. The team is awful. Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs. You kidding me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a game.

Sometimes it seems like any Wings loss is blamed on not caring or no effort or whatever. I've been very pleased with their effort tonight. They've skated well, thrown some hits, generated lots of scoring chances. No puck luck would be my main complaint, but I don't know which guy on the team I can blame for that. A team can play well and still lose. It happens all the time, and it's happening tonight, by my reckoning.

Pretty sure I "gave up" once this season, but I guess you can make stuff up all you want. Nice try though. Actually I find it funny you consider me the new Mindfly considering I've been one of the more positive posters about the team. Carry on, though. Don't want to ruin your twisted perception of my opinion of the team.

How about 2007-08 then when they dropped 10 of 11 straight games. Point is that crap happens in the regular season. The playoffs are a different animal. You should know that by now. The Wings may not go all the way this year, but I forsee a conference finals appearance this year.

The other team has more motivation, and the Wings will not play like a team possessed just to make brett happy. If it were that simple, no goalie would ever pitch a shutout. Ever. I guess it's just easier for you to make massive generalizations that point to the team sucking. You're talking as if they just don't care. Bear in mind that sometimes one team just wins and the other loses.

This is the replay that I saw. As a ref, just seeing that video means that Toronto should have reversed the call. Is it possible that Legace knocked the puck in the net when he reached back for it? Yup. If thats the case, then it is a good goal. I can understand it had to be irrefutable proof. So I can understand how that is a good goal. The Wings have benefited from gifts like this in the past. It would be different if the Wings NEVER got a gift like this. I say quit whining about it. Its hockey people. Sometimes, teams or players do get breaks.

Oh well.

They did in 2002 when they won 1 game in their last 10 and then lost the first two in the first round of the playoffs. Course, no one remembers that string of s*** performances.

If we scored 2 goals instead of hitting 2 posts I doubt anyone would be complaining right now. We're not playing THAT badly. We've had our chances to score.

Well, I don't think the score is indicative of the level of play between these two teams tonight. But it doesn't matter, you get what you get. The Canes are sure to lock it down and try to strangle the life out of this one now. With the way Ward is playing they're going to need to get a good break or two to rally.
