Didn't seem like trash talking to me. 7uongo readily admits that because of Thomas' style that he is adept at making saves that he himself could not make, but the opposite is the same. If you stay in your net (Luongo), those saves aren't too difficult to make. Seems like a decent analysis.

He was asked a question and answered it. We (LGW/Americans/hockey fans) rip on Canadians for being so predictable and boring in press conferences or when interviewed, we are now ripping into guys who are honest? How is saying "Due to his playing style, it's harder for him to make those saves since he comes so far out, but goalies like me who stay in the net have an easy time with those. It's also because of that style that he is able to makes saves I can't". I don't see it as critiquing, just answering a question. I guess haters gunna hate, and I don't even like that rat looking turd. Where did 7uongo boast or brag? Or was that just a general statement?

Exactly. Funny (and ridiculous) that you got negged for saying that. But this reading through this thread has shown me it is not a thread to "discuss the Canucks vs. Bruins" as some people have claimed, but merely a thread to praise the Bruins and hate the Canucks. Any posts made not doing one of those two things gets either attacked or negged.

    Changes in the offseason

I'd never underestimate the power of a Jedi Master. Let's offer six million for Weber or Doughty. What happens? The other teams match. We offer 6 mil for Burns. What happens? They don't match, we lose 4 first rounders and drastically overpaid for an above average defenseman. Holland offers 6 mil (total) for two top 4 UFA DMen. What happens? We get two good DMen without giving up any assets. Plus, you're also assuming that the players we'd make offers for are of equal skill or better when in reality only one is. The rest are worst.

    Wings - Flyers Trade Partners?

People here really think Flyers are going to trade Carter or Coburn? Can't believe it. Carter was their top goal scorer and they've just locked him up with a long contract. He's not going anywhere. Hartnell is much more likely if you still wanna think there's some issues between the two. Leino and Versteeg will both go before him. Coburn isn't going anywhere either, because they'll just trade Carle. Carle has a slightly bigger cap hit and provides less so I think the choice is pretty obvious. Of course Coburn may have more trading value, but that's not really the point here, because their only goal is to shed some salary. I can't believe there's been more than six pages of discussion about mostly Jeff Carter and the Red Wings here. I think Konnan511 should make a new avatar just to make some facts clear and drop people back down to Earth from that imaginary land.

    Changes in the offseason

Those days are gone. Holland was one, if not the first, to use long contracts for a salary cap benefit. Now since New Jersey, Philly and Chicago ruined it by going to extremes, long term contracts are less attractive. I bet we'll see fewer long term contracts this season.

We need a defenseman, end of story.

    Let's summarize...

Team of Shane Doans? Although on second though that might result in the world being sucked into a black hole when a goal is scored.

Alright genius. Go trade your one center who isn't average or worse at the dot, and get back a winger who is at best average on draws. Let's see how that works for your team on faceoffs. Carter is a defensively skilled center who is very good on faceoffs. He's their only guy who fits that label. Philly won't be trading him for a primarily offensive winger who is maybe average on faceoffs unless that winger is an Ovechkin or Jagr type. Filppula also fits that label. So it makes sense for a Carter-to-Detroit deal to be structured around him, not Hudler. Holland would probably prefer to deal Hudler, but I don't see Holmgren making that deal without Helm involved; and Filppula is probably gone before Helm is. If it were for Mike Richards, Holmgren probably would be fine with Hudler instead of Flip, but would still ask for an Abdelkader or Helm in the deal to improve his team's faceoff capabilities. It's called logic. Try it.

It gonna be the Detroit Red Wings! They are gonna move to the Eastern Conference and will be re-branded Eastern Conference Champions instead of Western Conference Champions on their way to another Stanley Cup Championship! Sheesh guys!

I'd rather have Howe in his prime. But you have to look at things from more than one perspective.

24 year old with Asperger's Syndrome. Close enough. f*** tact, give me 'fact'. Already had a good idea of the attendance figures, hence my estimation in the 1st post. 2nd post I used a bookmarked site to verify my numbers (most of which I keep track of fairly well mentally, go go gadget Aspergers). Guess I'm used to slapping people around with figures when they make (poor) assumptions. Indeed. I acknowledged that Anaheim has had more stable ownership. On-ice product has been roughly equal in a 10 year span. Off-ice product has favored Tampa Bay (though they're also in a better market). They also have much less of an identity crisis.

Just because I don't support talking out of one's ass: Average attendances Pre lockout (starting 00-01) TBL: 16,248 ANA: 13,169 Post lockout TBL: 18,057 ANA: 15,874 Total: TBL: 17,328 ANA: 14,973 The Ducks only finished ahead of the Bolts once in this entire stretch, 2 years after their cup win (08-09), when TBL was in their 4th season of abysmal management. TBL finished 21, Ducks 17th. In fact, here's the record of those 10 years by attendance rank (starting with 00-01, descending to 10-11): TBL--ANA 25th--28th 20th--30th 16th--26th 12th*--24th 2nd---24th 3rd---20th* 8th---15th+ 21st--17th 21st--24th 18th--26th *=cup year, +=post-cup year (TBL's post cup year was during the lockout) Speak with knowledge, my friends.

SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks

Its not that Luongo is necessarily wrong in his assessment, its the irony of the timing when he just came off a 12 goal against performance in the past 2 games. He is hardly in any position to critique someone else's performance - especially when that performance was a 1gaa game where Thomas STILL stood on his head and made some incredible saves. I didn't notice Thomas bragging and boasting after his shutouts this year.

Then he immediate said that Thomas can make saves that he (7uongo) can't, all based on playing style. I have 4 haters on here that neg all my posts. I know who they are, which makes it even more funny.

SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks

I think his choice of wording and his manner made it seem like a dig. Regardless, still funny coming from a guy who let in more goals in one game than Thomas has all series. I'm really hoping Boston can pull the upset. Not because I like Boston or dislike Vancouver. I just think Boston fans are less likely to spend the summer on here trying to convince us how great they are like Pittsburgh/Chicago fans did.
