As was foretold in the book of Genesis: And on the seventh day Saint Nicklas did re-sign with the Red Wings. And it was good.

    July 1st UFA Wish List

Why bother, no matter what you wish for others will just look down their noses at you. I don't think people get the idea of what a wish list is... Oh well. I know I have three right handers on my wish list. I will leave it at that.

I would think the presser I heard about but can't find a link to is unnecessary at this point. We know for sure Nick is coming back and I don't think anyone cares in the least what we're paying him, so we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief and move on to more important matters like what we'd like to do with Hudler. Link to Wings announcement.

I'm pretty sure I just heard the voice of God narrating that link that Lidstrom is returning. Hallelujah!!!!

Your existence means that they obviously need to do more research.

    Filppula & The Selke

Helm being better than Fil defensively is hysterical. He really isn't that great on the PK even. He works hard and he skates fast (and those are the two reasons he's on the PK), but he gets himself out of position a lot as well. Multiple goals were scored this year because of it.

    Draft Talk

I agree that size and strength is something a team needs, but i also believe it is impossible to tell how a player will adjust to this league before he is in it. a player may be big and strong, but not use it. ie: Jakub Kindl - 6'3" - avg .917 hits a game - Darren Helm - 5'10" - avg 1.56 hits a game. this team shouldnt draft for size they should take it after its been in the league(free agents and trades). thats why Khokhlachev would be the ideal pick for the wings, hes like a russian Briere

I agree with you he's one of the best players EVER. Well maybe not ever but I see your points being made and I can't argue with you well maybe... Scares me though this transition from the KHL to the NHL when playing good over here or vice versa there and then coming here. Honestly liked Hudler before he coped out to the KHL and then came back and obviously his game wasn't up too speed. So in that regard it scares me cause let's face it the speed of the game seems almost to get faster ever year in NHL and Jagr isn't getting any younger or faster. Also the season is 82 games plus playoffs in the NHL where in the KHL it's 56 games if I'm not correct with 8 team playoff. But having said that his numbers don't lie and in his prime one of the most dynamic players on the ice. My main concern then is can he show up the entire season? If so one year deal then but cheap please maybe like Modano's but cheaper not too be stingy

If Bieska resigns with Vancouver, then why can't the Wings get him? Too big of a payday on the FA market?

this would be the PERFECT opportunity for Mahimahi23 to come and "talk hockey" ...so uh... where is he?

At the time, $6m was a bargain price for him. He was a marquee offensive defenseman. Also, while he may not bring to the ice the defensive skills that Seabrook has, his offensive skills are far greater than those of Seabrook.
