Bertuzzi should be benched. He is abysmal right now and does not deserve ANY minutes...let alone top-six minutes.......Fil was actually playing really well, why not put him on the Z line???

Here's what I want to see. Franzen - Zetterberg - Filppula Hudler - Datsyuk - Brunnstrom Cleary - Helm - Eaves Ericsson - Abdelkader - Bertuzzi Lidstrom - White Kronwall - Stuart Kindl - Commodore

Great that he split them up but I would like to see the reasoning to why these combos. They don't make sense, and Cleary for the first time looked decent and he was on line three and to demote Nyquist already...It doesnt matter but Id like to see something like: Flippula-Datsyuk-Hudler Nyquist-Zetterberg-Franzen Abdelkader-Helm-Bertuzzi Cleary-Emmerton-Eaves With these we have Defensive mindedness on every line, we have potential secondary scoring on the bottom two lines and two great top lines IMO.

Duh, maybe you overlooked the fact that the record was stated because the OP pointed to our record as an indicator that trades need to be made. Nice oversight there. Self owned? I cant stand to watch Todd Bertuzzi play one more shift. What a complete waste of cap money. Cant score, terrible passes, constant give aways, refuses to throw anything that even remotely resembles a hit, and consistently taking stupid penalties, most of them in the offensive zone to make up for his disgusting play . Bringing him back has to be one of the worst moves the Wings have made since trading Adam Oates for Bernie Federko. Judas Priest, Id take Robert Lang over this piece of garbage, at least Langer could score an occasional goal.

After this historic meltdown, the Red Wings are the first team in sports history to be eliminated from the playoffs after being just 12% of the way through the season. Who is to blame for this embarrassing monstrosity? I personally would like to take a cheese grater to my Red Wings tattoo for making me represent such a poor run failure of an organization. Yes, Bertuzzi's free pass to one of the top two lines has been confusing and unwarranted. BUT, why is Cleary getting the same treatment? I want someone who can do more than just gain center ice and dump the puck in. Give his spot to Homer, who skates hard on every shift and does more stick handling than we give him credit for. Cleary should be getting the same amount of criticism as Bert.

makes sense, he was the only one who looked like an NHL on a line with Franzen/Bert so we can't have any of that on this team.

Even with Datsyuk not playing nearly as well as he could be he is still making plays and creating some opportunities. It makes sense to play him with Cleary and Hudler who can both finish. Zetterberg I think would make more sense with Fil and Franzen because Fil can set both of them up. I don't see much offense coming from Fil playing with Helm and Abdelkader.

Make 'em do suicides until they can barely stand up, and then when they all catch their breaths, make them do it again. I love Babs, I think he's a great coach, but what the Wings need right now is a ball-buster, and Bowman is that guy. He wouldn't have tolerated this for more than two periods, much less five games. Come to think of it, I think their strength and conditioning coaches should do the suicides with them, because they're the reason the team looks so lethargic and exhausted before the 3rd period is even over.
