It does seem like lately a lot more posts have been getting deleted, even when they're not in poor taste or malicious...

So, we're nearing the halfway mark of the season. Who is your pick for MVP of the team thus far? I say Howard, without any real doubt. Datsyuk has been great, Filppula has been quite good, and everyone else save Ericsson and Kindl has been playing notably well, but Howard has really been outstanding. He's clearly possessed of enormous confidence this season. As much as I hate to make this comparison, the sort of confident swagger he's got reminds me of Patrick Roy a bit (without the dickheadedness, naturally).

I'm floored by how slow GDT's are this season compared to the last 6 seasons. It's so surprising.

Nice penalty call on Lidstrom (seriously?) on an offsides that wasn't called.

I think this is the same problem I have been preaching the past few games... Our top 2 lines have become very stale. The only thing that stills works well is Bert with Pavs because Bert is using his size to make room for Pavs which has made that line effective. The 2nd line is always hemmed in our zone and is having trouble establishing any forecheck. I would like to see Babs change things up to spark more energy. Zetterberg- Datsyuk- Bert Franzen- Filpulla- Huder Zetterberg playing with Fil isn't working anymore because Hank tries to carry the puck himself too much, and he simply is not good at that. With Pavs, Hank does not have to worry about carrying the puck and can worry more about being open to get a shot off and Bert will provide more room for the Eurotwins. Anytime Franzen looks like a ghost for the better part of 10 games, that usually means its time to put him on a different line to give him something newish to work with. He has a history of coming out of his shell when he is put on a new line when things become stale so I think Babcock should use these lines for a while, and then when they get stale switch them up again. IMO that will make the Wings better because their problem right now is not so much making too many mistakes, but more of their top lines having little energy during the game.

They picked Nick because everyone else hates Perry and wouldn't get in the car with him. Nick is Perfect and untouchable, so he volunteered. Nick is also legitimately an All Star, Perry is not. BTW, rocks are better actors than Ozzie and Drapes. Nick did OK.

Should a suspension even apply in this case? Kopecky's punches are so weak I doubt they can injure anyone in the league.

Mrazek made 52 saves on 54 shots to eliminate the USA from the World Juniors. Our goalie of the future shutting down the Americans, I'm glad that I'm a Canadian Wings fan! Really excited to see Mrazek get a shot in GR next year. He seems to have the drive and attitude that you just can't teach. Not to mention his crazy goaltending skills. He outperformed former first round pick Jack Campbell hands down.

Hmmmmm....I think we had another modest, humble and non-egotistical player like that once.....just can't quite remember his name.....hmmmmmm....for some reason I just keep seeing the #19....who is he again...oh well.

That's an impressive lineup from a skill perspective, but that team is incredibly 'soft'.

Yep. The play of Crawford and Emery will be a big factor in determine how far they go but they definitely got the scoring/talent.
