Hudler: 54gp 17g 34pts 15:05 min/game 22.4%shooting 11 blks 33 hits 5'10" 186lbs $2,875,000 cap hit Semin: 50gp 14g 33pts 16:45 min/game 13.5%shooting 12 blks 24 hits 6'2" 209lbs $6,700,000 cap hit It speaks volumes about just how much is wrong with Semin right now that he's neck and neck with a midget getting 2nd/3rd line mins. So is Semin scoring more than Hudler? No. Producing more in fewer mins? No. Shooting better? No. Hitting more? No. More talented? Yes. Signed next season? No. Honestly it's arguable he'd even be more than a lateral move if we're comparing each player's output this season. And Semin's playoff play? Yikes... 0g 2a in 7gp two years ago, 4g 2a in 9gp last year. So basically you want to trade Hudler for a guy making more than anyone else on the Wings but producing less offence than Hudler. AND you want to throw tons of other s*** in the deal too like one of our top prospects (Tatar). From Washington's prespective they get guy who can produce as much as Semin in less ice time PLUS $3,825,000 in cap relief (noting that Washington has$0 in cap space right this season). Holland would have to be a meth addict to make that trade. lol

The Wings domination in that period literally caused a core meltdown of the entire Gamecenter network. Many, many people lost their lives in the implosion.

    Tomas Tatar

The comparison is in how they play the game. Search the internet... you will find many comparisons in game play. Does that mean he will finish as much as St Louis? Not necessarily... but if he lives up to potential he could. The point in comparing their NHL paths is to make you realize IT IS TOO SOON TO TELL! Yet it isn't too soon to realize you want to see where he goes. As for you thinking he is only a 3rd or 4th liner... that is a joke to me. Hudler plays on our second line with Bertuzi from time to time. Tatar if called up right now would be a fourth liner... Just like Pav and Zetter were for a year or so... as depth. You see, players have to get used to the speed and the system, as well as develop chemistry. You remember that guy Franzen? People didn't see that developing the way it did, and he put in his dues on the lower levels and lower lines then earned his spot. Tatar will do the same, not saying he will be on par with Johan but that he will have to earn it. You are sure he won't be anything like I am sure you would have been with Johan. Take some time, take some patience to let the guys prove themselves. There are so many examples on our team alone for you to think twice before saying what you are saying. Yet you won't give the chance to the FASTEST prospect in a decade to prove himself ready for the AHL?!?!?! HOW DO YOU NOT FIND THAT CRAZY?!?! He proved to the pro scouts that his 18 year old game was good enough for the rung right below the NHL... I would assume you would want to at least wait to see what his value would be when his body is age appropriate for the AHL AT LEAST! With his skill set and the right amount of muscle and hustle, he could be a ppg player in the NHL. COULD BE. You don't trade that upside without serious reservations and a clear upgrade. I don't see anyone that Tatar could be trade for in a package that would be the kind of upgrade to validate his loss and the other team would take. Creating threads about wanting to know about a kid, then refusing what you hear back and suggesting you want him traded... just be honest... you have no clue about him and don't really care you just want to hear that we could move him for a big name. I don't think it is happening, nor would it be wise to move a first, a second, and him for one guy. Tatar might be the real deal, as is Jurco. They were a first and second respectively. You want to get rid of Jurco, Tatar, and another Tatar perhaps in value? Trust in the scouts. They are doing a good job. Otherwise you might eat a ton of crow if Tatar were to become the next Pavel or Henrik or Johan. It is possible, because at his age neither were exactly world beaters either. They were just kids with a nack for the game and upside trapped in young bodies and lacking experience. Just like Tatar, and only time will tell if he follows the same path. We do know to this point he is walking the line extremely well.

Franzen has a playoff record like no other. Keep him always. Filp has been an awesome alround performer on the ice, and this year he is having the breakout production year we knew he was capable of having. He does more things better than Nash. Keep him. We have a ton of depth, a ton, wich translates to assets. Hudler has been very good this year, but we ultimately want to get bigger, stronger, faster, and score more. Plus, he gets knocked off the puck too easily come playoff time. And he let us know in his own terms (by going to KHL at the last minute after we already made player movements to committ to him) that there is no family loyalty between he and the Wings. Hudler will atleast alleviate some of the scoring loss for Columbus. The fact that he is too small, slow, and weak for playoff hockey should be a moot point with Columbus. Package Hudler and Kindl with a balance of picks and prospects that we are comfortable with and hope for the best. If it doesn't work, we have lost nothing. If it does work, we have lost minimal and gained more than we ever could have hoped for. Sell, Kenny, sell that deal!

We've seen mosquitoes and moths already, so don't feel alone. Okay, so I'm watching The War Room with Jennifer Granholm on Current TV (yes, I am a liberal and damned proud of it!), and she's interviewing California governor Brown. All of a sudden I look on her desk, and I hit the pause on my DVR. Guess what she had sitting on her desk for all the world to see? A RED WINGS COFFEE MUG! Bless her heart, she may be out in San Francisco, but she still roots for the Red Wings. Good on ya, Jen!
