20? 20? What do you take me for one of those bandwagon Wings fan that only caught the bus once they started winning? My first game was in 1979 at The Joe when the re-hung Gordies number in the rafters. Been a fan since i was 9 and have stuck with them through the lean,years as well as the last 20. That is why i get so passionate sometimes. But honestly, ya, they could still win friday, but its gonna be hard as Nashville will be gunning for our spot. Without Z its gonna be even harder.....

Congrats to the Preds on winning the Cup. They deserved it. They played so well I don't even recall what happened. I wonder if Suter and Weber will stay now that they have both become Stanley Cup champions. So what does everyone think Kenny needs to do this off season to be able to dethrone the Preds as Cup champs? It's going to be tough. I heard that Carrie Underwood is going to sing We are the Champions on American Idol next week with Mike Fisher. That should be good. We can al learn from the Stanley Cup champion Nashville Predators.

unlike a lot of people here, I don't think Conklin has been as bad as his numbers suggest. I've watched every game and seen how many goals against him were the result of shoddy defensive play, or flukey goals going in off defenders sticks, skates, etc. Having said that, Joey has been better and earned the job...kudos to him, he was good last year as well.

Except Ericsson isn't continuing to play bad. In fact, he's been quite solid back there. He has his brain cramps like most dman have... but overall, he's been fine, and definitely not been the 'problem'. Smith has shown glimpses of greatness, but as we watched in his last game(?) on the Red Wings is his ability to feed the other team free goals. Of course, I see him learning to make better decisions in the future, but right now, to Red Wings standards, he's not ready to crack the roster... yet. Let him play in GR and hone his game. In every loss I can point to one player that made a stupid play that cost us a goal. From Zetterberg's giveaway in the Boston game (which we won in SO), to Howards softy in last night's game to the Blues, but to me, Ericsson is the least of the problems. This team, overall, isn't playing with the spark we saw in 2007, 08, and 09. Unless one can argue Lebda and Lilja were game changers, stop blaming Ericsson.

The word "expansion" is one that makes Bettman's skin crawl. However, you do have to be standing right next to him to notice the difference.

People said the same thing about Yzerman retiring, Shanny leaving, Fedorov leaving, and so on. This team goes far beyond Lids. When he retires, the Wings will reload. They always do. I have to agree and say not to trade prospects for a 42 year old rental. Its just not worth one shot at the cup for a player that could provide top scoring talent for the Wings for many years to come.

Every team that will be in the playoffs has cap space to play with excluding the Canucks and Holland will never pay the cost for a rental. We're talking about cap era Kenny Holland here man.

Did you laugh when someone said the same thing about Franzen, or Quincey, maybe even Howard. Not saying these guys will be elite players, just seems like you don't have much confidence from a player who hasn't yet proven himself a "top six" NHL'er if he's over the age of 24...Again maybe they won't be, most likely not (except even I said the same thing about Johan) but I sure as hell wouldn't consider them scarps just yet. Your being just as pre-mature as someone who believes there is still potential in these players. If I was doing that trade i'd probably ask for Mursak over Emmerton, probably just a bottom feeder too though...

And this comment isn't just about the last game. He's always going to get s*** on when you visit Wings forums across the interwebz. Being his devil's advocate can wear on you for sure.
