Yeah, because having Tootoo will suddenly give Blues fans a reason to hate the Red Wings. I hope his first dirty moment comes at the expense of Jackman.

Was kinda dirty but Reaves will learn. If you want to make it in a league as a tough scrapper type and youre only 5'8 you learn to do things to keep guys off your back. You make a clean hit and a guy challenges you for it when hes twice your size why should you stand there and let him go to town on your face? Definitely a dirty playre who has cleaned up his act quite a bit, but its perfect to combat the blues dirty play. I'm hoping its Jackman and Backes that get it first

Ha. I actually like that. Don't skate up in my face if you're not ready for it. If you wanna go, let's go. I'm not gonna stand there and chirp about it...do the damn thing. Tootoo threw a good hit, Reaves took exception to it. He came looking for trouble and he found it. Don't get me wrong, I understand the whole not-drilling-a-defenseless-player-while-he-is-standing-there thing, but to me, Reaves was the aggressor in this situation and he was getting ready to do his own thing. He got what he had coming.

You conveniently missed the video of the Tootoo/Bertuzzi fight, I guess? Tootoo has the ability to hold his own against larger fighters. While I'm certainly not going to give Tootoo any points for the sucker-punch, he saw the opening and took it. If he ends up doing this while he's on the Wings, I'll probably grumble a bit, but at least we'll have some snarl again.

    2012 Lockout Watch

In the beady eyes of Uncle Gary, the fans don't matter. He's using the same script that he used the last time.

Cried and then tweeted that video. I know that even if it goes viral it probably won't change anything but it was really well made.

I think it is pretty guaranteed he'll continue to clean his act in Detroit, but good lord, I pray he does not lose his edge and get to thinking he's being paid to only hit, forecheck and score the occasional point - Wings have been needing a Maltby and McCarty type for a while, and Abdelkader is not it. Tootoo is a rare combination of pest, legit middleweight fighter, and skills to actually take a regular shift. I'd rather see him keep his dirtiness than turn into Abdelkader 2.0 on the Wings.

    2012 Lockout Watch

If you want to get technical, it is only an option for the union. Even if they exercise it, their average share for the life of the new CBA will certainly be lower than 57%. Also, the definition of the hockey related revenue is being changed, so the players would get 57% of the lesser total, which would be a defacto decrease in salary. Not to mention the fact, that the current system was put in place by the NHL, who used the last lockout to roll over the players union and force them to accept this CBA. If you listened to Bettman speeches then, the expiring CBA was going to set he economic house of hockey in order. And now the system they devised is suddenly favoring the players? FYI, average share of wages, salaries etc. in all the other industries of American economy is near 70%. So the owners are already getting a good deal. What it amounts to is that the league appears to try to shake down the players at the end of each CBA period for as much as they can get away with. And lock them out if they resist. Rinse, lather, repeat every 4-5 years. Personally, I resent their bully tactics that result in my loss of enjoyment of my favorite sport.

I've always hated Bobby Clarke, mostly because of "The Slash" I realize the competition was heated and was the most important series in hockey history, but that was plain bulls***. If I played on team Russia, I would have pulled a Marty McSorley on him in retaliation.
