Look at the first page if you want my definition of a "power forward" in a traditional sense. Don't know where I mentioned Tatar's name. Hell no! 4 or 5 fights (against guys like Datsyuk), hardly makes one a league leader in fighting majors. You don't watch much hockey, do you?

I don't understand the cleary+abs situation either but seriously, ease up on the panic buttons. Babcock is not an idiot and if he's doing something that we don't understand I'm gonna go ahead and say that there's probably a good motive. Wasn't long ago that everyone was bagging on Holland and Babs for the defense that you're all now praising.

Folks have been throwing out those theories, but I seriously doubt it. As others have said, I doubt we would intentionally cut our own throat for the sake of boosting these two scrubs miniscule trade value. If anything, they have proven more useless than previously thought.The question still remains: What the Hell is Babcock thinking? How bad is bad enough to change? How long is long enough to consider the experiment a failure? For a guy who usually gives up on even good lines too quickly when they don't work immediately, his bullheaded adherence to the Datsyuk-Cleary-Abdelkader line is an absurd mystery.

Tatar should have gone to the shootout instead of Zetterberg.

Franzen was awful, watching him live was horrible. Guy just floats around the ice with no drive. EDIT: also people need to stop booing hossa.

He's a very promising young player but still needs to work on his puck possession.

First, if you're going to call someone retarded, it carries more weight when you spell it correctly. Second, it's best not to call anyone that here, especially not a moderator. The players at least have to be able to keep up with him. Not only can they not skate with Pavs, they don't have the same offensive mind to hang with his moves and passing to be in the right place to succeed. They fumble passes and struggle in the corners the entire shift. You can actually see Datsyuk hesitate to pass to them knowing the drive will likely die if he gives the puck up. A lot of value could be gained by simply switching Abby and Tatar. Cleary can continue to dig in the corners and front the goalie and Dats would have someone at his talent level to work the magic. esteef

Well, I guess, but it seems that Cleary and Abby are just dragging him down. Maybe if one of them were there Dats could make that one player better, but when both players are clearly in a whole different class than him, Dats can just shake his head when he makes a great play only to have Cleary screw it up or Abby whiff on the shot... For sure, but my point being Brunner was put there and proved himself worthy...Tatar wouldn't waste to opportunity either. He is already proving he belongs in the NHL, but if given the same playing time as Franzia, I think he plays just as good as Brunner and renders Franzia useless...which he already is anyway.

There's at least 15 players on the team more worth hating than Franzen. You clowns must be jealous of the serious contract.

Perry is definitely a power forward and more so than Clowe in my opinion.

There is no doubt that Mike Babcock has done a masterful job with this team this season. Losing Nick Lidstrom and Brad Stuart (And rafi the year before) is a HUGE loss. To top that off, the Red Wings have had over 110 man games lost due to injuries, which is UNREAL! Yet, Babcock has not only kept the Wings in the playoff picture, but they are a couple points out of 4th place! In doing so, he has sort of reformed the way the Red Wings play this season, and it is very evident these past few games. The defense are getting far better at moving the puck, there is more shot blocking than ever. There is no doubt that Mike Babcock is doing a damn good job despite losing key players in the offseason and the many we have lost due to injury. Now, in saying that, he needs to give up on playing Cleary and Abdelkator with Pavel Datsyuk. It isn't working. Not only are they not scoring goals, but they are making stupid plays to give the puck away after Pavs works hard to get possession of it. Given Fil and Bert not playing, I can live with 1 of Cleary and Abdelkator playing with Pavs, but not both! While Hank has Brunner AND Franzen (tho lazy) playing with him, Pavel has NO ONE playing with him. With that said, I would expect Fil to be back either Tuesday or Thursday, which will help a lot. But until then, Tatar needs to play with Pavel.

Won't happen....with Detroit and Toronto joining the same division next season, this is the same situation as Columbus refusing to deal with Detroit... Besides, our guys are gelling right now, pretty well. Add Danny Dekeyser and our D will rock into next season...I still don't like Q, but that's me, he is at least playing pretty solid right now, I can say the same for Kindl. I know Cola is on the roster next season but put him on waivers after training camp... Kronwall - Ericsson Quincey - Smith Dekeyser - Lashoff Kindl (Huskins for depth)

Who would want Abdelkader? I wouldn't trade anything for him if I was a GM. Players like that are widely available. 1 point in 22 games? Nobody wants that.

Babcock has lost his mind. Though Malik speculates as to the reason this is going on and makes some interesting points, but still. CRAZY.

agreed, he barely touched the puck, he literally fell on it and the constant kicking people out of the circle, just drop the puck, stop trying to get all the face time!

ya, not to mention he takes the blame for each loss and never makes excuses. He never says, "well if Quincey hadn't gotten out of position I could have made a save" he says "I should have made the save, I lost sight of the puck and they made me pay for it" He is a workhorse, a stand up guy, and definitely top 10 in the league
