    Top 6 fwd next?

We have scoring forwards in Tatar and Nyquist... But they need to play top six minutes and not bottom six. Problem is that we need a bigger wingers who are going to play in the corners and provide some space for Dats/Z/Brunner/Nyquist/Tatar... Tatar/Nyquist - Dats - Clarkson Clowe - Z - Brunner Bertuzzi - Helm - Tatar/Nyquist Miller - Abdelkader - Tootoo Kronwall - E Smith - McQuaid Deke - Kindl Lashoff

    Larry Murphy Fired by FSD

It's still not fact. It's speculation. Informed opinion at best. Still not fact.

Not sure of the truth of this but I have read in a couple of places that the news was delayed because DeKeyser asked permission to personally call the other teams who showed interest and let them know he was going with the Wings. Maybe not the prima donna move that some here were claiming (this is not directed at you Dom) and a very classy and respectable move instead.

There's definitely stability with regards to his bank account.

Great signing by the RW's. yes it will take him some time to adjust to the NHL. he needs some practice just to learn everyones moves, habits, and the communications on ice. No rush. That does give us 10 Dmen now, so yes some one or ones will be moved in some form or another. On a different note. My gosh. Some of you are just plain silly. Just because you didn't get the info YOU wanted when YOU wanted it, you go off into bizzareland. In fact, I would like to invite all of you guys to my house to play poker. Bring lots of cash. This was DD'd biggest day of his life to date, and HE had all the right to due it whatever way HE wanted to. This day was all about HIM not any of us. You only get one first pro contract. It is kinda like your first kiss, first "time" first job, first love etc.....

    Iginla Traded to Pittsburgh

For me it sheds a whole new light and perspective on what had gone on with Hossa in 08. At the time I understood his decision, but felt a little miffed that he had indicated an interest in staying with Pittsburgh and gave people that impression but ended up going elsewhere. I think what I didn't understand at the time was that players aren't always trying to just "screw GMs over" -- they are looking out for themselves just as much as GMs look out for their team. I guess now I can understand that Hossa just wanted what was the best choice for him at the time but wanted all of his options open if possible.

Yeah, well if its Hollands fault that Parise and Suter's wife are from Minnesota, then Holland can get the credit for DeKeyser being from Michigan, y'know

Awesome, first Verlander signs extension, now we get DeKeyser. Great day to be a Detroit sports fan.

Get rid of him right now....if these are the types of decisions we can expect from him then we are in for a load of regret landing him

Well, I could be wrong but I believe Colaiacovo is an old, old wooden ship used in the Civil War era.

    Iginla Traded to Pittsburgh

To me, Iginla's choice of Pittsburgh over Boston (which clearly had the better trade offer) is just a big middle finger to Calgary. If he truly cared about bettering Calgary as he was leaving, Boston would have been the choice. I've never liked Iginla, seen too much dirty goonery from him (spearing, fighting while readjusting his visor as he does so, etc.). Only thing he needs to learn to fit in on that Pittsburgh squad is a good reverse 1 1/2 somersault to draw some penalties.

I think a rental makes the most sense. It's going to be near impossible to land the perfect forward, so he will probably aim for a veteran scorer.

Wings sign D Dan DeKeyser to 2-year deal

Pretty crazy how all of the sudden the Wings have one of the best D prospect pools in the league.

I don't see how what I wrote would have suggested that I know everything. I pointed out a simple figure. In this event, I am right; he is being used as a forward at the moment, but he has played the vast, vast majority of his career as a defenseman. Thanks, but no, and I don't see the relevance of the question.

"Magically"? If I were to submit a list right now of my top four dreams jobs in film, I might list some production companies that invest billions of dollars into projects. The chances of them taking me aren't great, but I think a place like 20th Century Fox is a place I'd want to go. I also include Filmways, Columbia Pictures, and Warner Independent Pictures. All of these places would be great landing spots for me. I hear that 20th Century Fox wants me to work for them; suddenly, I'm really excited about an opportunity that's apparently mutual. There's nothing really "magical" about it. Why is it such a difficult concept to grasp that submitting teams that you're interested in doesn't mean that a NMC-player is bound to that list?

I think he's saying that he knows he's likely to advance further in the playoffs than he did in Calgary, and that this Pittsburgh team would have beaten Tampa Bay in 2004.

There is a risk of losing him this summer... I would rather have something for Flip than losing him for nothing

Quincey is likely out for most of the rest of the season. So he doesn't figure into the mix for now. It will be difficult to trade Colo since he hasn't played and had a history of injuries. Kent Huskins has no value and I felt like he's played well when given the opportunity and he's dirt cheap and knows he was brought in as a depth guy. Ian White seems to be the one who has some value unless the Wings are looking to make a significant trade and including a younger guy. Its tough though, because other teams know the Wings pretty much have to get rid of someone, so it will be tough to get a good deal.

Now I know why other teams' fans hated the Wings during the pre-cap days.
