I'm holding out hope that Brendan Smith will be able to fill Rafalski's shoes in a couple years, after the rookie mistakes leave his system. He saw the ice so well last year during his brief stint. There's no way those games were all an accident. -

I'd rather watch the kids screw up and make rookie mistakes and learn from them than watch some of our vets make rookie mistakes and often get rewarded with more playing time. I'm a lot easier on the kids watching their potential on the ice. -

Kindl has been in many ways our best Dman all year. he has played well. Kronwall has played better offensively, but worse defensively. Ericsson better defensively, but not as good offensively. Those have been our top 3 all year. Smith has made a bunch oif mistakes, but you expect that from a rookie. lashoff has been very good defensively, but is not a threat with the puck. I am looking forward to dekeyser a lot. -

We lost him, Stuart and Lidstrom in only a few years. Since you can't replace those players, it's only natural we'd miss them. The reason we suck at puck possession now is because those guys aren't here to start the rush. The powerplay is also important, but secondary to playing the system overall. You can't play this system with such a crappy defensive core with untalented players. -

Wait a second.... I made a horrible joke in a thread that Franzen at centre would showcase his hustle and now he's centring the 3rd line? Danny Dekeyser's 1st NHL game, Dats and Z together and now Franzen has to play centre!!! I'm excited right now. at Franzen. -

nyquist is very talented and nhl ready, the problem is, when you only get a couple games in the nhl at a time and they constantly move you around, you really don't get a chance to prove your worth, or get your feet wet. What we have seen the past few games, is what I believe to be the NHL Nyquist -

Sorry, not ready to erase "In Kenny We Trust" from Red Wings currency. Besides, it's the entire braintrust of Holland, Nill, Devellano, and ultimately Illitch that have us where we are. And where we are is a place that half the league would kill to be. Of course that is just my opinion and my opinion comes after suffering through the "Dead Wings" era and never even entertaining the thought of jumping ship as a fan. In Kenny I Trust! -
