Every game looks like the Nashville series lately. No speed, a bunch of perimeter shots that get blocked and a complete unwillingness to play in the tough areas of the ice. If you can't beat teams with skill, then you better have the tenacity to score some dirty goals.

Can Andersson spend half his summer on learning to hit well and often? He has plenty of skill to be a 3rd/4th line center but IMO he needs to pick up his physical play.

I watched the series, I was disgusted with Crosby, One of the most pathetic display of immaturity by a professional athlete that I have ever been witness to.

I have to disagree. Every goalie lets in ones he'd rather have back, but he's not like Marc Andre Fleury, who makes a game stealing save, followed up by a backbreaking softie. If you count goalies who have played over 20 games this season, Howard is at or near the top 10 in save percentage. Plus he's been a workhorse for the Wings. There's a handful of guys out there who are generally better, but Howard is good enough to get the Wings to the Cup.

Every professional athlete wants to win. Do you think they want to lose? It's a team full of mediocre plugs, rookies, and Datsyuk and Zetterberg. They get outclassed in these games because the opposing teams actual deal in real talent, and put together competitive lineups. We, on the other hand, always look for the cheap "if" solution. "Well if Miller can find some offense...". "Well if Abby can play like Homer...". "Well if Kronwall can tighten up defensively...". And on and on and on.

I know how often we say that a game is going to be huge, but I think from this point on until the season ends, each game will be even more important. This might be too much to ask for but I want to see emotion from everyone. From the bottom to top lines, from the coaching staff to the fans. It may take Mrazek 6 years to be better than Howard. Patterson may sneak up and leapfrog Mrazek on the depth chart. In the meantime, we have an incredible goalie in Howard for 6 years.

I like Sid's 1 G and 2 assists in the 2009 SCF series. Talk about clutch! The fawning over Crosby goes overboard at times but he is a good player. esteef

Holland was praising him yesterday and said he's signing now or in June but the sides weren't far off at all. Looks like he got his 6 year 5 mil contract. We all know it was gonna be 5 mil, just wish the length wasn't 6 full years. Goalies can have the most inconsistent trajectories.
